1998 GMC Jimmy (Trashed interior)

Since I've been doing a lot of cars (8-10) a week, I've really neglected a lot of my families cars. This was my first car when I was 15, paid $1,000 from my uncle and then $2,500 for a new GM trans. Sold it to my dad when I was 16 for $5,000, lol. Its now one of the farm "beaters" and used for everything around the farm. It hauls hay carts, car trailers, anything you can put in the back, driven all across the midwest (sister snowboards) so its seen its fair share of abuse. It has 220,000 on and probably hasn't been cleaned since I sold it except for the occasional drive through wash in the summer. I did this at night (3 all nighters) in one of our smallest shops as all the rest are full of equipment/trucks so excuse the darkness/haze from the heat/water in some of the pics.

Exterior
2BM with Optimum car wash and grout sponge
Wheels/wheel wells/undercarriage cleaned with degreaser (tires scrubbed with brush) but rims/wheel wells/undercarriage just got rinsed after degreaser (I wasn't to concerned)
Jambs cleaned with degreaser

Interior
All interior plastic and door seals cleaned with Meguiars APC (4:1) and srubbed with a toothbrush and a swissvax brush look alike
Vacuumed with 6hp shop vac and brushed a ton
Spots pretreated with Folex
All carpets/seats sprayed down with Zep Premium Carpet and Upholstery Shampoo (excellent stuff, no foam really, cleans awesome)
Extracted with the BLGM till it all rinsed out
Went back over with the shop vac till carpets were about dry

Where I began...

Its no where near 100%, but its a lot better. Yes there still dirt in places and stains in places, but its not a show car. Didn't polish it as it wasn't worth it. Finally I'm done.

All i can say is you need a metal for that job :winner: what a turn around on that suv:bigups

Good thing you had Husky Liners in, lol. J/K. Curious...how long did that take, and how much would you have charged someone for that job? Well done in any case! :bigups

Such a rough thing having to work in the "small" shop. LOL - I think that shop is bigger than my 2 car garage.

Great job on the SUV.

Thanks a ton guys!! I love doing interiors like this rather then a simple clean or new car prep.

Yes without the mats I think I would have been in trouble. I bought them when I bought the car so they've done their job good. Well not from the looks of it, lol.

As far as price goes probably $300-$400 for something like this. I would do a lot better if it was for someone else and not just one of our beaters. I do a lot of SUV/Van's for moms and stuff that look the same, but a lot of its food, spilled drinks, etc in the carpet where here it was a ton of dirt also.

Total time was probably 20 hours or so, didn't clock myself on this one as I didn't think my family would pay, lol. I never thought I'd get done vacuuming as I kept pulling up dirt each time I'd brush the carpet. I did jack the whole car up and put it in jacks and degreased the underside also along with the motor compartment. Wish I was in one of the other shops with a lift.

Yeah it was rough in there, lol, Im use to a lot bigger shops but we had them all practically full. Its a pretty "big" shop, it has bays on each side also (split by the walls).
