Wondering what you would use and steps to take to deal with my red oxidized paint? Either my KAIO is old (it is) or it just isn`t the solution as it didn`t seem to help.

Please advise.

Thanks...

Hard to tell if that`s incipient clearcoat failure or just as you noted, some oxidation that can be removed. Did you use the KAIO by hand or by machine? What machine, pads, etc. do you have, and what polishes?

I did it both by hand and machine with a PCDA and an UBER pad. I`ve also used LC pads in the past. I`m in need of new pads so I`m open for suggestions.

I have some Mezerna polishes, but my general routine on all vehicles except the Cobra before winter is KAIO and Collinites 845 just before winter here in WI. I haven`t done the Mustang in a long time due to the fact it is always in my garage and I haven`t been driving it much in the past few years.

Kind of hard to figure how it`s newly oxidized if it`s in the garage all the time. Is it possible that`s some heat-fused KAIO? I remember overheating some KAIO when applying it by machine (probably too much also, from a saturated pad) and it turned into a hard, hard-to-get-off residue on the edges of the panel. Maybe try some Menz finishing polish on a test spot and see if that cleans it up?

Much better. The SF4000 helped. Thank you!

Still looking for suggestions on new 5.5” DA pads!?!?!?

Not knowing which pads/machine/s you already had and used, it is kind of hard to make recommendations..

I have used these pads for decades and they always work great with any product needed for that paint, and my Makita Rotary...
They correct great and if you keep using them correctly, they will finish down nicely with products that do not continue to cut, but instead break down..

I like to use a Rotary and keep the pad, product, and paint, just Moist enough, so it doesn`t dry too soon, and then, keep going until the pad holds all the product, etc., and stop, clean the pad, clean the finish worked on and see how it`s doing...
