A friend of mine has a 96 Black VW Jetta. The car has severely faded paint (dull black) and very swirled but I wanted to detail it for him. However I am thinking its not clearcoated because of how much the paint faded and dull it looks, however if it is clearcoated I would be worried about polishing it fearing the clearcoat is dangerously thin. What do you guys think? I guessing no clearcoat, does anyone have a black Jetta (MK3) that knows?
