Hey! Thanks so much. Yeah let me know about the 911. What color is it?

It's white. Original factory paint :)

Actually, that's my good friend's GTI. He's the one that recommended you to me.

It was sold sometime recently, and he purchased an A4. That GTI looked great!

ZimRandy- Ah, that's my *fave* Impala SS color (at least to own, I like *looking at* the DCMs), and the '95 is my favorite year too :xyxthumbs

I really like the green for a summer toy as it doesn't show dust as easy as a DCM or black. It also seems to look silver, blue, or green depending on the light and the angle you are looking at it. But, a nice DCM or Black is very drool worthy!

My preference was a 1996 to get the auto on the floor and the analog guages, but this '95 was all I could afford at the time. I took care of the shifter on the floor issue by installing a 6 speed manual from a Z28. :woot:

Heh heh heh :xyxthumbs

I still prefer the OBDI/single O2 sensor cars though ;) But yeah, you can work around that easily enough too.

That is something I've been kicking around too, but I dont know if I can justify the cost. Also, I'm not willing to keep screwing with the clutch setup if it starts to malfunction. I've been on the SS forum for like 8 years and it seems some people have all the luck and some people spend a ton of cash to get the clutch working right. In the grand scheme of things, I'd rather have another built auto and put the rest of the 6 speed money into the paint job or the motor. Although, I'd love to take your car around the block should you ever make it to GA Randy (Maybe SSHS or something). :D

Thomas,

What was your combo for that black GTI in the pics?

All I remember is the lsp - FK1 #2180

I just watched the movie "crank" with Jason statham? and saw 2 black chevy impalas chasing what looked like a yugo. Very slick cars indeed.. I wonder why the UDM cut more than the rotary? great job!

Wow, looking at that car is like looking out on to my driveway. That is wonderful work you did on restoring it back to like new status. I don't see too many dark cherry impalas at all. I have owned mine since I bought it new back in April of 1997. I've only put 60,000 miles on it. This car is absolutely the best cruiser for the highway. I like it better than my dad's BMW 750iL for sheer driving pleasure on the highway. I've just got my UDM recently and I've been knocking off the swirls and scratches that have accumulated over the years before I joined autopia. It is probably be a couple weeks before I finish the whole car. I have 4 kids so time is precious and I can't devote more than a couple of hours out of a weekend to polish. I just hope I can get it to like as nice you did. By the way do you know what the final sale price was? I'm just curious, not that I'm gonna sell mine too. My son (who's 8) says that the Impala is the car he wants when he goes to college, so I'm doing my best to maintain it until then.
