1995 Red Porsche 993

Ya that Vette I started working on today is messed up bad. The whole nose is a bad repaint along with bad brand el cheapo paint. I thought the new paint was going to outshine the old paint, but it is the other way around. So far the old paint is coming back very nice. It doesn't have to be perfect, but make it sellable. It's one of the hardest jobs I have had in a very long time.

I remember the last hard one I had was a 87 Porsche red and also a white one. It came out nice but was fading again fast as I was waxing. I wish I had Zaino and way back then.

Ryan, Those are the kind of cars that put hair on your chest. ;)

Have you used the Presta UCC much? It seems so much more thicker and has alot more grit then the strada 1000. Maybe its because the strada 1000 we used was "vintage?"

Matter of fact I used the UCC today. It is a coarse compound that breaks down fast into a finer grit that will produce a very nice gloss, but must be a pro to use. You will like it alot! Works great on wool, but will leave marks and needs to be finished off with a medium polish the finish polish.

Works excellent on the orange lc pad too. I love this compound and have been using it for 10 years. On lite colored used cars it finishes off nice and glossy and just needs a lsp topper.

I do not talk about it that much cause in the wrong hands it can cause damage fast. It also does not leave any oily residue behind and clean up is easy except for the light dust. It is a must for some high solid clears that are a pain. Also works excellent after wetsanding and is used by some known car builders. I will get some before and after pics of it tomorrow. I am not going overboard with the car though as it is for a dealer and they will wash it with these hard brushes after I am done. I started today, but need to go to the bodyshop store to get some chemicals and more sandpaper so I can finish tomorrow.

I have some pics I will post up in the click and brag

I thought you picked some up and tried it?

oh ya, I have not tried the 1000 in ten years or maybe more. I forgot what it is like and the last time I used it was probably on laquer painted cars when I was a young kid:scared:

How do you like that?

Thanks again everyone for your kind words. :)

Yes I too found the UCC has some dust to it. I never have had any dusting from P1500 or the one time that we used the S1000.

Maybe the bottle I have of S1000 is the same one you used back then. :chuckle: I may order a fresh bottle of the S1000 as the one I have is dated 1993 on the bottle. We had very good results on the black 928 when Bret used it w/ black wool to cut the severe defects out of that one. Only needed to clean up with ZPC/white LC pad/PC after.
