1995 Mustang Cobra

My friend has had this car since he graduated high school. Ever since bought it, he hasn't stopped putting money into it. I'm not sure exactly how much money he has into it, but I know it's up there. He just put another $8,000 into it this spring and had it dynoed last week. I forget what the exact number it is but it's somewhere in the 650-675 horsepower range. The car is easily a low 10 second car if not high 9's. I told him he's crazy because he never drives it and keeps sinking money into it. He says that he will have the car until he dies and doesn't care how much money he loses. The way he see's it is that some people are addicted to drugs and spend all their money on them but he's addicted to his car instead. I must say that he does everything the right way and uses only the best components, mechanics, etc... He even deleted the rear seats in the car for weight reasons.

As for that switch on the back, it's the shutoff switch for the battery which is in the trunk.

Yep, that's how I used to be.......and then I got engaged and bought a house! Things change....trust me.

Actually, I still have mine, but I'm getting ready to sell it. I just don't ever use it and cars do nothing but lose value. I'm into property now, or at least stuff that gains value. Granted, they aren't any fun, but they make money. I've got over $30,000 invested in my car and I won't be able to get a penny more than $14,000 for it. It's a shame.

Here's a pic of under my hood. You can see two other pics of the car in my gallery, and this is a high 10 second car on motor, high 9 second car with the blower running at 10psi. The blower's capable of putting out 26psi, but the engine can't handle it. It would be insane with the right short block.......it never ends.

Engine setup look familiar??

actually the chargers have never been offered in a cobra r package. they were offered in the 2003 and 2004 cobra (named the terminator) because the 01 n/a cobra's fell short and well, anything to stay ahead of fbody's:D i love this car:bow :bow...nice detail, did you do anything special to those rims?

I know those Mach 1 motors are pretty serious in the right hands and have shown their tailights to LS1's. Some 4.30's or more, bolts on plus the solid axle and slicks its a solid 11 second car with the right driver.

Sweet detail I always loved the Cobras in that body style especially the front bumper made a huge difference, nice work:xyxthumbs

hahahahaha....bwahahaha.... ha. Yeah because ford doesn't know how to make true power from a naturally aspirated motor. They leave that up to GM :p

(sorry guys, I'm an f-body freak) :wavey

:rofl let's see, the '80s stangs with 302 cu. in. V-8s made 225 hp while the camaros from that time with 350 cu. in. V-8s made 230 hp.

jump to the modular years, and the 4.6L DOHC V-8s ford placed in the cobras from 1996-1998 made like 305 hp. the camaros from that same time period had pushrod 5.7L V-8s and made like what? 285 hp in non-SS form, 320 hp in SS form with "ram air" intake. 1999 & 2001 cobras with 4.6L DOHC V-8s make 320 hp.

so ford may have been a little behind, but funny how they could always make similar horsepower levels from smaller motors. ;)

anyways, it don't matter as long as it's detailed. :wavey

I think so often the GM guys compare the Mustang GT to the Z 28/SS/TA for power but the GT is way lower in price than a comparable Z28. So yes for the money the Z28 has more power. Now take the Cobra even the N/A with its power problems in 2000 I believe and if the power would have been correct they are pretty well matched cars at similar prices. Now for the price difference of my GT and a SS I could spend my money well and compete if not beat. GM makes a good motor but what alot people overlook is their most prized creation........the mullett:p !

Couldn't resist plus that rowdy exhaust they keep pawning off on their sports cars :( .

Can't we all just get along now hold still while I get my scissors:D

(Disclaimer: This post is no way is meant to hurt anyone's feeling especially those memebers with Mulletts:o )
