1990 Cadillac Elorado Biarritz, 2006 Dodge Charger, 2004 Infiniti G35

Great work my friend... that G35 and your mix wax makes me want to play chemist with my #16 my 5050. :)

Those Caddy seats look like theyre in really nice condition!

Great work ,as usual Scott. What do you use for tire dressing? They seem very dark and shinny.

Regular old Armor All, original shine formula.

35TH LE-a little experimentation never hurts!

The front seats have been redone on the Caddy. Back seats are original though.

Great work Scott.

In spite of your comments, the Caddy is awesome for a 16 year old car. It would be interesting to see if it holds up under the rigors of the 17 year old recipient.

My ONR method is different than yours (I use a sprayer and a rinse bucket) and I've found value in doing the wheels/rubber last. Is there a reason you do them first and do you start over with a fresh mix before doing the paint?

The G35 almost looks transparent in this shot! (anyone else remember the Transformer Mirage? :chuckle: )

Great work and great photos, Scottwax!

Half washed (wheels and fenderwells done first and dressed so any dressing overspray gets washed off) in this shot:

Yes, I change out the bucket and I use about half the normal amount of ONR for wheels and fenderwells-cleans them just fine.

2004 Infiniti G35. I wash/wax this one about every 2-3 months. He brings it to me because there really isn't anywhere to work on it in downtown Dallas were he lives. He had me wash it and polish the hood and trunk last weekend because he noticed some light marring on both when washing it himself. I used Poli-seal with a white LC polishing pad to clean those two areas up. Anyway, we got light ice and snow on Thursday and in the Dallas area, they put down this chemical mixed with sand on the bridges and overpasses that leaves a sticky film on the cars, feels similar to sap when washing. The owner normally washes his own car between wax jobs but decided he wanted to me to wash it to get all that slime off of it.

Starting point, good test for the power of Optimum No Rinse Wash and the single bucket method. I used a microfiber covered foam pad (not sure of the brand, got it from my Optimum distributor) to wash and a Meguiars Supreme Terry and Excel Detail yellow MF to dry.

The car was last fully polished and waxed (RMG/106FF and #16) in mid September and he planned on having it rewaxed in January but since his schedule will have him travel all that month, he told me to go ahead and wax it after washing it. I used my 80/20 Meguiars #16/FK's Pink Wax blend.

I use my Cyclo for most correction and finishing but the PC for using Poli-Seal. The smaller Cyclo pads load up with product too quickly and sometimes lay down a thick patch of Poli-Seal that can be hard to remove until it completely dries.

in your 80/20 mix why did you choose PW over other waxs?

In your opinion what does the addition of PW do to the 16?

do you just take a chunk of 16 and a chunk of PW and melt them down?

I didn't have a whole lot of PW left and figured I was more apt to finish off what I had if I mixed it with something else. I happened to have a half full container of #16 and figured "what the he!!". I scraped the PW into the tin of #16 and melted them together.

The addition of PW gives a wetter look to #16's deep glow. Kind of hard to explain unless you see them side by side.

so Scott, you've never used a rotary ? y is that ? i thought u might cuz ur work is amazing.

It's not the tool but rather the man behind it that produces the results.

I haven't used a rotary because up until lately I've been able to get the results I want via PC and Cyclo. However, now that more cars are coming out with harder paints, plus seeing more Corvettes than I used to, I'll probably have to add a rotary to my arsenal as well.

I have used a rotary before but it was back in high school when I took a paint and body class.

After cleaning with Woolite/water.

Scott, take me to school a bit on you Woolite/water process. I understand you use it 1:6, you spray it on, scrub it in, then how do you extract it? Shop vac? Do you follow with a rinse of plain water? Many thanks!
