1989

Jean-Claude

Keeper of the beautiful
That is the year that the movie, The Package was made. There's a scene where a lady is running from some guys and she runs past a car wash business and they have their prices listed.

Wash $8

Wax $27

Detail $60

Here we are 20 years later and there are tons of guys with the same prices for their wax and detail jobs. :har:

I just thought that was funny.

OK..............without looking, who are three of the prominent stars of that movie? Hey, it's only "20" years old!! Come on, it's just a little bit older than you are!! :) :)

See ya. :wavey

Its like the computer hardware business.

In 1989 computers were $3,000, today they are $300!

I always thought it would be awesome to bring a computer from today to the past, give it to the company's founder and be like "now, start from here" and then when you get back to the future, see how much things have changed

Well, she's old enough to be your mother.........maybe grandmother! :) How novel! :woohoo:

"Joanna Cassidy"

We'll have to leap forward to something in the '90's and beyond for you "yutes"!! :D

See ya. :wavey

Technology gets cheaper. Labor and craftsmanship should not.

I always used this example when I used to go to colleges to recruit IT people.

A computer cost $3,000 in 1987. A bathroom remodel, $5,000

A computer now cost $300 in 2007. A bathroom remodel $15,000
