1988 Ferrari Testarossa

L&I Detailing

This past Sunday we took a break from buffing gelcoat and switched over to paint for the day taking on a this older Ferrari and a Porsche Panamera.

With the ferrari we only used 3m's finesse it ii because of how soft the paint was how it rubbed right off even when tested by hand and didnt want to go too crazy with abrasives just to be on the safe side.

As you can see with some of the pictures there were some nice swirls in the paint and whoever detailed her before us haloed the heck out of it and they were evenly vertical across the entire car, not sure how they did but have never seen them so even before.

After polishing we finished with P21s one of my favorite carnauba waxes, really made that red pop!

Hope you enjoy!

Car looks awesome, great work! If I may ask, what do you have holding the canopy down? I'm only speaking from my own stupid experience, it's a good idea to get some stakes or weights for those things. One good gust of wind can throw them quite far, and the have enough metal in them to really damage a vehicle.

Todd, it was single stage thats why we were a little hesitant of going too crazy on the paint just to be on the safe side.

Flannigan, after the picture we placed some weights on the canopy this was pretty much right after we set it up, i have stakes also but a little difficult to stake in the concrete lol but yeah one good gust your screwed!

What do you mean you were hesitant because it was single stage? Generally single stage gives you a bit more paint to work with, as you don't have any clear coat to worry about burning through.

I think he was just hesitant since who knows how many times the car has been buffed in the last 25 years plus he determined it was pretty soft

nice work austin

how big is that canopy? 12x12?

and is that the gallon of finesse it at your side for the ferrari?

Detailer's Squeeze Bottles :D

I was just playing it safe than sorry its a very good customer of mine a lot of cars and boats regularly and at the end of the day he was extremely happy so thats all that matters.

Gurge, we had a little ketchup bottle in our pockets the big bottle fell overboard the day before off the bridge of a 48' silverton lol
