1979 Lincoln Town Car revival

Thanks a lot Ron. It was hard to be happy with it at first because it wasn't perfect and I felt that so much more could've been done, but taking a step back and looking at the overall picture I'm pretty pleased

You should be. I've been stalking your fb, and have seen some of it. Here, the start pics, to end pics, is AMAZING.

Now there is a real car. Turned out real nice. a lot of work but worth it. Great job. Would love to see pics of the new rims he is gona put on her.

Great job! I'm jealous you got to have all that fun by yourself. Those large flat panels are a dream for the rotary/RUPES combo. Awesome job!

House of wax- Good job! That's just *SO* much better!

What's this talk about new wheels? IMO that oughta keep the wheelcovers and lose the raised white letters in favor of some whitewalls...hey, the car is what it is.

Thanks Accumulator.

I can see your point on the wheels. Personally, I find wire wheels to be fugly on anything, so I'm excited to see the new ones. The chrome should look nice with all the chrome trim on the car and 18" size should look good. Big enough to go with a big car like that, but not too big. Just glad he didn't go with 20's lol

Heh heh, see...to an old-school guy like me the whole FUGLY-wheelcover thing is a feature on a car like that! Sorta the same reasoning behind why I'd run some (narrow) Michelin whitewalls on 70-series tires showing lots of sidewall (hey, at least I didn't say "gold-line Vogues")...rocking the '70s in period-correct style :D

My one uncle had a Town Coupe of that vintage, lipstick red with white top/interior no less! Went well with his leisure suites, in a really cheesey way.

IME Period correct white walls are getting harder to find. I'm still trying to find a source for my Cadillac.

Bet you could still get gold-line Vogues ;) Saw 'em on a newish Deville the other day.

But seriously...you ever try Coker Tire? Some of those little boutique tire manufacturers have all sorts of stuff available.

I've been making some side by side pictures lately for jobs that I post to my detailing page. I think sometimes it's easier/quicker than scrolling through pictures to see the difference:
