Josh, I just found this forum and I read your article. Thanks for the write up, I am in progress of wet sanding a newly painted 1972 Porsche. i SEE IN SOME PICTURES YOU FILLED THE GAPS BETWEEN HOOD AND FENDER WITH SOME SORT OF TAPE OR SOME THING.

WHY and what did you use.

Thanks

Thanks, I think it's called butle tape?? it's not mine, the owner had it and used it, it basically just filled in the gaps between the panels. It did okay at keeping dust out but kind of gets in the way when you're buffing over those areas.

Nice, can't wait to see the write up.

Are you fully restoring it or just buffing it out?

Josh,

Amazing job on the car, it looks great. I've skimmed through the whole post, but could you post what products and methods got you to the results the quickest. I need to polish my car and i don't have a lot of money or time to buy/try different methods.

Thank you.

Josh, the car looks great and awesome write up..

could you sum up what you found to be the best cutting and polishing combination's?

I'm almost finished wetsanding my car and want want the quickest way to get the polishing done. thanks.

Keith believe it or not that is a difficult question to answer. I need to know everything about your car first.

What make, model, year, any repainting on any panels or bumpers? how agressive are you going with the sanding? what grits are you using and in what order?

Keep in mind even with this old Lemans it took me 5 hours of playing with different pads and polished before I settled on a combo and it realistically needed an extra step that I did not throw in due to the owners budget for the work....

Please feel free to PM me about your car.

Thanks,

Josh
