We don't see much boat action around here, so I thought I'd post up my recent project.
2 summers ago we picked up a used 18' Rinker to have something to mess around with in the summer. Finally got around to buffing it out a couple weeks ago and thought it didn't turn out too bad for a 23 year old boat.
Here she is home all dirty from winter storage:

Proceeded to use Starbrite Instant Hull Cleaner to remove the scum line on the bottom of the hull. I put it in a one gallon garden sprayer, sprayed the stained portion of the hull down and let it sit for two minutes. Rinsed it off and the stain rinsed right off....worked awesome. I then washed everything down with Optimum car wash and backed it into the garage to go to work:

Luckily the boat for it's age wasn't super oxidized or full of dock rash, but there was certainly work to be done:

Here's a few shots of some of the worst parts of the boat:

Here's what I went to work with. Compounded with Marine 31 Heavy Oxidation Cleaner on a wool pad with the Dewalt rotary. Followed that up with Marine 31 Final Step Polish on a white pad with the Rupes 21 and finished it off with Marine 31 Carnauba Wax + Sealant on a blue pad with the Rupes 21:

On to the results....
Before:

50/50:

Looking much better:

And finally back outside for some final shots:

Trailer was gone over quick with some Menzerna Final Polish and sealed with Collinite 845 as well. Tires dressed with HD Dress:

Sorry for the massive amount of pics.....had a hard time narrowing it down lol. Anyway, isn't flawless, but the color, shine, and defects that were removed is night and day (even if it doesn't show well in the pics). All of the products were very pleasant to deal with and very effective leaving an extremely smooth and glossy appearance in person. Got a week long vacation coming up in a couple of weeks....can't wait to get her out on the water
