160 mph Car dryer

I'm going to try my new Toro 210+ blower on the SC one day! I hope it doesn't rip off the paint:D



It's a two speed model, so who knows. Got it at Home Depot one day.



Oh yea, Steve threw in some SSR 2.5 in my last order:up You never know what to expect from good ol' Steve:bow



Going to correct my neighbors black Toyota P/U truck. Lucky for me he's as fussy. Just gave him a spray bottle of Megs FD and one ExcelDetail MF towel. He keeps it nice and clean, just doesn't have the tools to correct the scratches and swirls.



I'll update the thread when I use the Toro.

Hey Bill,

Thanks again for the tip on the car dryer. I went down to the North Brunswick Pep boys yesterday and got me one of those bad boys. I have not had a chance to use it yet but tested it out and it should be great to use. It will remove almost all the water after a wash and then just finish up with my big blue waffle weave. well worth the 160 mile round trip I drove to get it. also it did ring up at $18 at checkout. what a bargain. still 4 or 5 left on the shelf.

Well I did finally get to use my $18 car dryer and let me tell you its terrific. the easiest time I have ever had washing and drying a vehicle in all the years that I have been auto detailing. the blower will get off most of the water on the finish and then clean up the rest with the waffle weave. I only used the car dryer for about 5 minutes. thats all the time it takes to use it. It just makes it more of a pleasure using the WW towels to finish up the job. highly recommended for any detailing fanatic.

Same here. I'd much rather have to resort to the cord on that model and save the extra $182 price difference from the Makita .
 
A little research on leaf blowers taught me that the 220 mph Toro was the way to go.



I had been using compressed air to 'finish', but this thing really rocks, AFTER using the California Water Blade.

I also use compressed air but not for drying. I use it for engine and chassis detailing. it works wonders.

I wouldn't use it on a windy day or when lots of pollen is around. I thought maybe fastening a coffee filter or similar media to the intake area may help :nixweiss. Im not certain if there's an internal filter as well
 
As long as the area around you is wet, should be no problem with dirt/dust. Problem increases if working low to the car, say around rocker panels.



I work from top to doors then wipe the rest.
