135i paint restoration and Opti-Coat PRO

This project took 2.5 days and was quite the experience. The owner is a really swell guy. HUGE BMW/car fan who lives next to the BMW plant in SC. Does a ton of DE's and is one of the biggest UGA fans I have met(GO DAWGS!).



On the second day of my visit, he was complaining that he felt horrible and had chest problems. Went to a cardiologist, who hooked him up to an EKG and said everything was fine. While I was eating with his family(like I said, they took great care of me), he said he started feeling bad again and was going to take it easy. I got back to work on the car around 7'ish and not long after he came outside and said he was going to shut down for the evening and went back in. Literally, 2 minutes later he can hurrying outside and said he had to go to the hospital. His wife came running behind him.



I got a call 20 minutes later that he had a MASSIVE heart attack. Fortunately, he survived. The next day I wrapped up and took off. I've been in touch with him over the last few months and is still recovering and doing well.

Damn, that's quite the experience! Not sure how I'd handle a detail if the owner might potentially die halfway through the job.

Wow! Crazy story to this one! Glad to hear he's doing okay though...weird they didn't find anything when he went in the first time...one has to think they could have prevented some damage to his heart!

Those 135i's are some really nice looking cars. I remember seeing an orange one years ago (first time I saw one) and I loved the look. A shame it's such a small car. I have a little boy on the way and i'm happy with my WRX as a sporty car, but still family.



Car came out great though. A shame about the guy having all of those problems. Nice work!

I agree. He later told me that his cardiologist is known as the best in SC. Supposedly, there are some things an EKG won't show about a heart that's about to jam up.

No, they didn't have the M out yet.. I guess it was more of a red orange type color... but yes, the M's are VERY cool. To expensive for me though.

Times like this I'm glad I'm CPR and AED certified, infant through adult. The Air Force keeps me up to date. I actually performed CPR on a man who had a massive heart attack and crashed into a median. Some joggers dragged him out of his truck and were doing a perfectly terrible job of attempting CPR on him when I came on scene. I took over until the ambulance arrived. I never found out if he lived or not. He was in Atrial defibrilation when the paramedics arrived. His name was Emory...
