After dealing with everyone else's car, it's so nice to do your own and get such stunning results with ease. It's been just under a year since I picked up my '11 STI sedan after a loooooong 12 week wait to get it delivered. Picked it up from the dealership before ever running through the wash and no one has touched it but me since, so finding defects was a bit of a hunt. Before and afters wouldn't have shown much.
I had not found the time to properly seal the car and have only applied wax twice without so much as a clay bar, so decon was necessary. Subaru paint is very soft and IME, even fine clay with FK 425 will mar the paint, so I opted to use the finish kare decon system. It's pretty easy to use but time consuming, and I made the mistake of getting a little acid on the black plastic around the mirror, which burned it....but I was able to get it acceptably corrected using a little 205 and elbow grease.
Steps:
FK1119
FKSIRR
FK118SC
AutoMagic no. 48 for wheels/tires
M205 w/ White pad on FLEX 3401
FK 2180 w/ Black pad on PC 7424(cured 24 hrs before topping)
AG HD w/ Blue pad on PC 7424
FK 108 for tires/trim
FK 228 for glass
Now just a few quick afters:
Thanks for looking!
