$10k, most bang for the buck?

Thanks Accum. I'm smart enough to get the education so far. Translating that into salary jumps... not so much yet, I still have a lot to learn lol. But Yeah, what are you guys doing for a living that funds these toys?

$15/hr at a small Architectural firm plus side work (detailing, computer related, etc.). Save up some $$ and pay for the toys up front. My M3 cost me $16k almost 2 years ago but it was one of those "must buy my dream car NOW!" moments. I was simply saying it's well worth the $$ and doesn't cost much to maintain if you do maintenance on time.

Thinking things through though, I would say my budget is right around $10-13k for a car, but oh well.

And you guys are talking about how used german cars aren't that expensive, talking about your porsches and BMW's. You guys are crazy! lol

The average price of a new car is over $30k, so yeah, I think a $10k car is pretty reasonable compared to something new.

i would say the Twin Turbo editions of a 300z and a dodge stealth (3000gt but @ the price we are talking). how bout a 95 XJR? and if i wasn't 6'7 i would have a miata. MSpeed3 costs a little more than the 10 but also needs to be noted

You might not fit in an XJR if you're that tall. I'm under 5' 10" and I can't fit in some years of those. Too bad, yeah..they're a whole lotta wonderful for the $.

I'd also be careful about a MSpeed3, I always expect them to have been beaten on. Those cars sorta concern me....just soooo much performance for so little money; most of the guys I see in them could be over their heads in no time. Kinda like the hot Dodge neons, I try to give them a wide berth in case the driver does something, uhm...ill-advised.

I would buy 3 or 4 cars at auction for between $1,800-$2,200. Keep about $2,000 for repairs then re-sale for about $15,000-$18,000 :bigups

Either that or buy 165 shares of P & G and sit on it for 3 or 4 months :hide:
