10 days, lots of cars, even more pics...

Kevin, Most excellent work.

My favorite pics are:

335 sedan hood shot with the sun

Vette hood shot slight off center.

For those two step jobs, why do you use a black pad with 106ff instead of a white?

Pictures look great. Wow, 17-35 is a pretty close lens. Doesn't look like your pics have much wide angle distortion though.

Great work on all! I love those new 335's and I might get one in the near future. I love the color of yours!

That last hood picture of that vette is awesome.

I find the black pad finishes down a little better sometimes. Usually I try a white pad first.

It only produces a little distortion, it's more visible if I am up close, like this:

Thanks guys.

Awesome work as always, all the cars look absolutely beautiful! :bow

It must be BMW 335 week, I think Patrick did one and I detailed one this week too!

How much less cut is there with the black pad compared to the white?

Just making sure, you can top a Z5 right away with a Carnauba and it works fine? Any big difference in appearance from the Souveran/Natty's Blue? No Z2 Pro for light colors?

Great work!

Kevin, awesome work! :bow :bow

You even make vettes look easy.

You seem to be using HC over EC lately. Is there a big difference?

Hmmm, a little. If you're trying to remove marring the white is probably a better choice. I just find that on some paint, particularly black, the black pad finishes cleaner; no micromarring, no holograms; it's pretty reliable. EC/HC don't leave enough junk behind that I need to use a white all the time to clean up.

I've never had a problem topping any Z with a carnauba right away. Souveran is deeper than NB, it darkens the paint more. NB is a little wetter. I personally prefer Souveran, but for a ~$60 difference NB makes a good case for itself.

i accidently mixed my hc with op 50/50 (thinking it was htec). Does it still take longer to break down?

You'll be ok. You may have hurt the cut of the HC a bit thought.

EC has a bit more cut in my experience, and while it finishes down pretty well, HC finishes down very well considering its cut. I usually reach for it first, and if it'll get the marring out I use it. If not I grab EC. HC is a little easier to work, too.

As for making Vettes look easy... man, those black vettes, it's a wrestling match from start to finish. :)

Thanks for the input Kevin. I think I'll have to order some HC.

I have a millenium yellow vette to do soon and I am not looking forward to it!
