I was wondering which has better suction.
I currently have a 1-1/4 interior kit, which is nice because of the 10' hose that came with it, that and the cost, but I was wondering how much (if any) suction I was loosing by using a smaller diameter vs. the larger diameter attachments.

Jay,

Whats the HP on your unit?

I have a 5 HP and the 2.5 hose, I also have a smaller 2 HP with the 1.5...I really don't see any difference in the lift...I think they base the hose size off the HP of the unit...I couldn't see having the 2.5 in my 2 HP unit...Don't think the motor could lift as well because of the voloume

Stay with the 1 1/2" hose,it will work better on interiors. I have a 5hp vac atr the shop with 1 1/4" hose, went and bought 2 1/2" hose, wasted my money. Ive got a very powerful back in the yard I borrowed from the neaighbor. 100 hp, and the nozel will about pull you into the wll.( Its a grain vac for cleaning out grain bins HAHA!) But its got suction!

Now I'm using a 5HP, I had purchased the 1-1/4 when I was using a 2.5 HP, but now I was thinking whether I could get more if I went to the larger attachment. Another up side to the 1-1/4 is that the hose is more flexible than the 2-1/2.
Thanks for the responses, I think that I'll stick with the 1-1/4 for the time being :D

Randal it sounds like your neighbors vac can suck the paint off the car
