I found one at Coastaltool.com for like 120 or something like that but I'm looking for one that is already broken in. In other words, I'm cheap. If I have to then I'll buy the one from coastaltool and then get the kit from CMA and be happy but I'd rather get a cheaper PC and the kit and then spend the rest of the money on Klasse or something. Let me know if you see any good deals on em.

I tried finding one cheper a few weeks ago. And had no luck. I think Costal has the best deal. Along with the kit from CMA.

You can get the 7336 RO Sander at Lowes for 109. It is the same as the 7424 but comes with the 6" counterweight and a backing plate for sandpaper.

Kev is right. If you are going to order the new backing place anyway, just get the 7336 from Lowes. With all the Christmas sales and discounts you might be able to get it even cheaper than $109.:up :up

That is a good idea. There was a hardware store in town that was going out of business earlier this year. I looked all over but I think I got there too late because they didn't have any. I'll check out lowes. Thanks guys.

Hi. I'm new to the Forum. I've also been looking for the best price on the PC (to go along with my BF stuff from CMA). Well, I think I found it. Wal-Mart (yes!) has the 7335 for $98! It's the five inch (I don't know if they've got the "6) but even factoring in the cost for the "6 counter-wight, you're ahead. I think I'm going to take the plunge.

Now the question is: Which pads and which MF towels? CMA has a good pad package, but I don't need the yellow, and I'd like mf bonnets instead of cotton. I've found a place that sells the same brand foam pad as CMA (DuroFoam by Lake Country Mfg.) for $6.25 each and plate for $13.25. It's http://www.smartshoppersinc.com/ . It seems they've got the "7 inch version. They're supposed to work with a "6 backing plate. I might try them. On the other hand, I've got other stuff to get from CMA, so I might just do the whole enchillada (minus the PC sander) with them.

Check to see if there is a PC service center near you. I have purchased many rebuilt (full warranty) PC products as much as half off.

A little more detail:



I just bought my PC 7336SP (the 7336 sander with the polishing pad used by the 724 as a bonus) from a local Lowes. They price-matched the Wal-Mart price and knocked 10% off to boot! So I paid only $96.80!



With respect to the pads. I ended up getting the CMA kit. They would not substitute an extra grey for the yellow or the MF bonnets for the terrry. Oh well. I was very tempted to buy the pads from smarshoppersinc.com but I wasn't certain if the backing plate they sell is compatible with the PC. I think I would have had to get some kind of adapter. Plus you've got to order a minimum of $50. I'll probably order replacement pads from them, however.



FYI: I picked up a little Viking "detail kit" at costco. It includes a black wool mit plus a couple of brushes and a sponge. For $9 i'll give it a try.

So which one is better? Its the 7424 that Coastal Tool has. Is that a good one? Is there a major difference between the two? I'm going to get one as soon as the tax return comes back. My wife is letting me keep the state return for my own use. Whoo Hoo!!!

The 7336 and 7424 is the same machine except for the way they outfit them. Get the 7336 cause it has the 6 weight in it that you need with the cma 6 inch pad kit. 7424 comes with the 5 weight which goes with the 5 plate. Cheapest is lowes for 109 or Walmart for 98 if you can find one.

Vehicle going to Concorso today, had the "Bing" come out for the week to help with this car and a Maserati Gran Turismo.

This car was in bad shape as you will see in the initial pics, so here it is.

Customer requested something be done about the severe orange peel on the finish, and I explained it can be done ..........but the vehicle would have to have healthy paint readings and I would do 3000 grit as opposed to 1000/1500/2000 etc so there would be enough for clear for future corrections.

Here is the start of that part of the correction.
