Lots of thoughts to follow since I haven't read/posted much in a while...
I haven't posted any work in a while because I took a new job and really just didn't feel like detailing besides maintaining my own vehicles. I detailed this Charger for an anniversary present for my girlfriend's grandparents. It has been well cared for and was recently clay barred and had a nice coat of wax on it, but the paint was in pretty poor condition due to improper wash technique and hard water.
Anyway, I spent about 18 hours on this including engine bay, interior, exterior, etc although I didn't take many pictures. Instead, I felt like taking a few videos with the iPhone 4 (not even 4S), so the quality isn't great. Please watch the videos in HD so you can see more of the detail if you care to. I'm no Garry Dean with the videos, but these are the best my old iPhone 4 can produce.
I started with general decon with Dawn dish soap to strip the old wax, Iron X, mild clay, Sonax FE and Wheel Woolies on the wheels, Meg's APC Plus on arches, tires, gaps, shuts, and a mild dilution on the interior, dry, etc.
All the horizontal portions were in the condition of the following video and received love from my new Dewalt 849x, Meg's wool pad, and M100 followed by the Porter Cable with HD's green pad and HD Polish. HD's Polish is freakishly good. On the vertical panels, I used HD Cut on the yellow HD pad and followed up with HD Polish, all using the PC. M100 dusts like M105, btw. Very annoying, but cuts nicely and wipes off very easily.
I found out something interesting regarding HD Cut. I have the new version and found it to remove pretty easily when using wool on the rotary and MF or foam on the PC, but it was nearly impossible to remove when using Surbuf or Tufbuff wool pads on the PC. This was repeatedly the case whether polishing a bumper or solid metal piece of the car. It hazed like crazy too, but that was easily removed by HD Polish so no big deal.
Getting set up with a portion of the products used:
Anyway, here's the general condition of the paint. It looked much worse in the person.

A little interior love:
I dressed it with Adam's Leather (interior) Conditioner and wiped over the instrument cluster with 1Z Cockpit Premium. Windows with Stoners Invisible Glass, exhaust tips with Adam's metal polish and 000 wire wool, Wheels polished with HD Polish and a Mother's power cone on the drill and then waxed with Optimum Car Wax. Arches, tires, and trim dressed with Ultima Trim and Tire Guard. I went with Optimum Car Wax on the paint because I ran out of time to use something more involved. 303 Aerospace on the engine bay.
Final video before any LSP:

My girlfriend was literally climbing into the car to drop it off Monday morning before we both left for work as I was still trying to wipe down the paint and door shuts. I wish I had 3 more hours to finish all the small details I take pride in, but no such luck.
Thanks for reading and I apologize for the short write-up. A coworker has some classic Land Rovers and her husband has a '64 GTO that I might detail soon if I'm lucky!
