Ron and I have installed 2 bra kits on new 06 M5's and I have both of them coming up to be detailed. One is a light blue and this one here is black.

I snapped a few pics of this project but sorry no full pictures t this time, also no sun shots.

Here is the kit being installed, here we have already installed the hood and fender pieces and working on the bumper piece. No headlights yet either.

This is Ron installing the side view mirrors.....these can be a real PIA :grrr

I suggested to the M5 owner that he get smoked lights and he agreed. It makes the car look very aggressive!

Here is a shot of the hood with the hood piece installed. Sorry for the dark pictures. Owner really liked the results and the look :bigups

Sadly this black beast is really swirled up pretty bad. The owner is going to try and get the dealer to pay for me correcting the paint.

Adios,

Anthony

The smoke lights are not lights themselves but it is a paint protection film.

found it

Do not use the driving programs 5 and 6, refer to Drivelogic on page 57, during break in.

New subsection of the break in period entitled "Engine and Differential"

Subsection:"Up to 1200 miles/2000 km"

Drive at changing engine and driving speeds, however do not exceedd 5500 rpm oor 105 mph.

Avoid full-throttle operation and use of the transmission's kick down mode during these initial miles.

Subsection: Froim 1200 to 3000 miles

The engine and driving speed can gradually be increased up to a continuous vehicle sped of 135 mph. Only drive a5t top speed briefly, eg. when passing.

Using P500 and P500S is OK if the above mentioned procedure is followed.

Nice work, looks invisible in the shade.

When did you start doing the clear bras? What type of timeframe do you budget for the installs?

I have been installing clear bras now for over a year and it takes us, on say a Porsche, about 2.5 to 3 hours to install a full kit which includes hood, fender, mirrors, bumper and headlights. Porsche bumpers, especially the Turbo models, are very difficult to do.

So we can do 2 cars a day but at first it's an all day event because it takes a long time to get the hang of it....and weather plays a role also.

Very nice, what percent tint is the headlight film? Do you sell precut kits, want to smoke my rx8 headlights.

It's not a very dark tint really....in fact the darker the car the lighter the tint seems or appears to be. I put these on a light blue M5 and they looked really dark but only a slight tint on the black M5.

I don't sell the kits but you can purchase them on-line at Xpel.com

Nice work Anthony. A friend of mine had a clear bra installed on the front of her 350Z. She waited a month for the paint to cure after having the front resprayed. When they were installing the clear bra it lifted the paint right up. Needless to say she was not happy.

Yea that's always a danger when doing a repaint. Sounds more like a paint shop issue though than an installer issue. We have done several re-paints, even removed one from a repaint, and had no problems. I would tell her to take this up with the paint shop.
