'05 BMW 545i Zaino detail

Wow, just wow. I love black cars when they are freshly detailed but I would probably go insane if I owned one. Simply outstanding work,

Nice job Mike. Hope you have a lovely Christmas up north. Make sure you leave the snow up there. I dont miss it too much. :D

Mike, are you teaching photography classes as well? :D :D

I believe I know who this body shop is as they left buffer marks all over our 3 series when they repaired some damage for us. You are correct, they do great body work and they took me on a tour of the place and it was impressive but they need to get someone who knows how to polish.

Mike, your work is awesome as usual! You get to work on the nicest cars!

:thx all for the very kind words!!

Wade...John and I talked about making the "cod piece" shot my signature pic. ;)

John THANK YOU so much...your post just made my holiday season!!

Mike

So, when do you start your own detailing school???? That is a great job!!!! I have only done a few vehicles and I do not look forward to getting a vehicle where the customer expects me to get swirls and water spots out. It appears that you used a PC for your initial steps and not a rotary. I only have a PC and have been looking for ideas on products and step by step procedures. I cut and paste your initial products and steps to a word document, hope that you do not mind.

Hello,

I just sent this PM to the original poster...

I'm in Toledo, Ohio. I have a jet black 330CIC (2005). I was in a small wreck. The BMW Body shop here (very similar to your story) REALLY swirled upthe driver side of the car. Random Orbiter burnt that side up terribly, I have almost worse swirl mark damage than you! After seeing your "after" photos, I have definite hope that I can fix this...

Problem is, I've never used any of hte polish (meguiar) or zaino before.... Is there any help you can give someone in your exact same position? My car looked like your after picture (before the body shop, haha). I used to hand wash it with meguiar crystal clear soap every week or two up here, and I didn't even have minor scratches/spider webbing! Used caution in washing/drying it, took me 3-4 hours every time.

Now what? Now my car looks worse than your before photos (the whole driver side is burnt). I even have a deep scratch or two that the body shop left that nothing could fill. I don't care about those I guess, the orbiter burn/swirl marks look terrible. I don't know of any "real" detail shop up here thta can help me, I don't think there's any "Zaino mobile" up here. I'm afraid to try to polish this stuff out myself, can I make it look worse than it looks in those pictures?

Anyone in Ohio/Michigan care to help? =D

Thanks for any advice,

Reuben

nice work!!!!!

I dont understand why people think its ok to leave paint like that? Its good I guess though Idiots with buffers make me money!

Again very nice nice work!

Reuben,

A DA (aka Random Orbit Sander/Polisher) is almost incapable of doing similar (or as you say worse) scratching and burning. It must have been a rotary...

:wow: That was a "Lazarus" project.. you brought the paintwork back from near death!
