'04 Infiniti G35 coupe detail

Detailing Rottweiler
Hey all!!

Have I mentioned lately how I love the current generation G's and the Z's ??? ;) What makes this particular G even more special to me is its owner. Not only did he convenience me by dropping the car off at my house to get detailed but he is a true "car guy" having owned a turbo charged S2000, a modded STi and a pullied '03 Cobra in the past. Each of which he tracked and drove like they were on fire...my kind of people indeed. :woot2: Heck...he calls this car slow!! We must have talked about cars, mods and racing for 2 hours before I even started detailing. It's clients like these that make the day in and day out of the detail profession worth every drop of sweat...reason alone to keep on keepin' on.

The car is an '04 coupe with about 22K on the odo. It has been lowered and fitted with 19" Enkei rims shod with Nitto rubber. At the moment those are the only two mods. It is a daily driver and had not been waxed or polished to any degree since it was purchased. Below are some pics and a description of the detail. Please pardon the poor lighting and rain drops in a few of the pics as I was battling scattered t-storms all day.

Enjoy,

Mike

The detail...

Wash with Meg's NXT shampoo

Clay with Clay Magic clay bar using Meg's #34 as a lube. Even though the paint felt smooth after washing the clay pulled off a significant amount of nastiness.

Polish with Meg's #80 using a Meg's 8006 pad and my PC set at 5-6.

Glaze / Polish with Meg's #81 using a Meg's 8006 pad and my PC set at 5.

Seal with Meg's #21 using a Meg's 9006 pad and my PC set at 4. I let the #21 set on the paint for approximately 45 minutes before removal.

Rims are sealed with #20, exterior glass has been VM'd and the tires are dressed with two coats of Z-16.

WOW! Nice job :2thumbs:

You have quite the set up, Garage, another garage for detailing, and plenty of shade for those outside details when the weather is just right.

Very nice looking car, but I'm surprised to see such bad orange peel on the rear deck by the Infiniti badge.

Awesome work Mike. :xyxthumbs I love the G35's. I think the interior on the G's blows away the 350's.

BTW love your garage... :2thumbs:

THANK YOU all for the kind words!! :up

General Lee that is my "house"...I surrendered the real house to my wife when we had that garage built. ;) If I get motivated today I'll post some more pics of the garage with the "ladies" in it.

Series 1 I should see this vehicle again in 90 days with possibly a few wash and QD sessions in between. I fully expect the #21 to last that length of time.

Jason the OP really isn't all that bad. I think the Honda and Toyota paint might be a touch better but the Nissan paint is no worse than some of the high end domestic car manufactures.

tdekany the paint did not seem very hard at all. A few slow passes on each panel with the #80 was enough to remove the marring. All together the whole detail took me close to 6 hours (+ or -) to complete. That included the exterior work plus the interior in which I cleaned all the panels/glass, shampoo/extracted the carpets and treated the leather with Z-10.

Scott I had never used #21 on anything other than dark solid paints before and was very pleased with it on this color. It definitely darkens the color though I could not determine its effect on the metallic due to the light I had.

Pat from what I understand the '05 G's have completely redone interiors with different trim materials and layout.
