The ONE thing I screwed up on with Menzerna products in the past is:

You can't really screw up with Menzerna. It's very forgiving, and the product is a pleasure to work with.

I've got 10 guys @ work begging me to take them to Classic Motoring in Tampa to make a Menzerna Field Trip.

It's all water based. No washing inbetween products to remove the haze/oil.

I'm so glad I found this site, now if I could just find another arm on here.

You have hit the nail on the head with the Menzrna products as stated above. every detail I use their products comes out great. what else could you ask for ? nice metal flake popping, trademark of Menzerna ???????? sure looks like it. :xyxthumbs

For FMJ to bond correctly, you NEED to do FP-II or at least the Glaze. I tried to cut corners and just throw on FMJ over top of whatever I had on the truck before I used Menzerna. 2 weeks later no beads.

I did the proper steps, FP-II, Glaze, FMJ x 2 and it lasted almost 9 months. Slickness was completely gone, but still very tight beads. Amazing stuff.

I did not use water to remove FP-II, I didn't need anything to remove it but a MF and very light pressure. It leaves a squeeky clean finish once removed. The trick is, spritz the pad with H20 very lightly--one pull of the squirter, put an X of FP-II , start on speed onea nd work it onto an area, then work up to speed 5.5-6 and move fast and evenly. Work until its almost dry, and then it comes right off with little effort.

If it's a bear to remove, you used way too much product. I used MAYBE 1/4? of the bottle to do the entire truck each panel twice. Menzerna products = very little product goes a LONG way. I got 15 applications out of a small bottle of FMJ.

To apply the FMJ and make it go MUCH smoother on and evenly applied, use a damp microfiber applicator. Screw the dry stuff the instructions say. You waste too much product like that and it goes on thick. Very thin coats is the trick. Just a haze will do it and its more than enough, removal requires little to no effort. Use a back & forth motion, dont use circles like we we all did when we were younger. I have had excellent results doing this.

Shoot me a PM if you want some pointers on Menzerna. I've had my share now playing with it on quite a few vehicles.

Your car looks great. !

Great, Alex! Thanks a bunch. I should be getting the PC in the next few days to play with on my Tahoe. I'll be putting your recommendations to good use! Will post pics once I'm finished.

Yeah I'm in Central Florida.

The lake is the next block over from the house. It's an excellent background for pictures. It's even better once the grass gets green.

I may try to get another 2 coats of FMJ on this weekend for a total of 5, and if I'm upt o it maybe top it with P21s if I go get some.

I'll get better pics this weekend, those did not turn out well.

Looks amazing! FMJ is one of those products I've been waiting to try.

I was very hesitant to try the Menzerna line simply because of price last year.

I then figured the cost per application. People were reporting 10+ uses out of a 16oz bottle of FMJ alone.

Figure your costs for #26, @ 3x per month like I was doing, VS FMJ 1x every 6-7 months. It pays for itself. It's much cheaper looking @ the cost-per-application VS the big picture.

Once the neighbor saw the truck when I first did it, I made $200 doing his Envoy & Toyota Spyder.

I then did quite a few other cars before I was just about out of FMJ. It goes a LONG way, and a 16oz bottle will last you a year minimum if you just do your own vehicles.

Looks Amaazing! I'm sold on Menzerna from your thread, love the flake pop.

I'd be interested in seeing the pictures of your car topped with Carnuba. I have heard that FMJ doesn't like to be topped. I still have some Nattys Blue that I love on my car and would love to put on top of FMJ.

Damn fine work for a "gimp"!

I had double disk removal surgery in May (and have 3 inches of titanium holding my head on my shoulders) AND trigger finger release surgery Nov21. Last physio was today. See Doctor on Monday. Just a few more weeks of exercises and I be able to get back into IT, myself. It has been a long hiatus and haven't touched a polisher since the end of April. If my start-up polishing is 1/2 as good as yours I will be much pleased.

Thanks guys.

I'm not too happy with those pictures. I am planning on washing the truck and will get pics today. You can see the small "swirley haze" on the truck. It came from overspray of the tireshine that I wiped off with a MF/QD

I'll post better pictures today.

talk about flake pop !!!

awesome truck and it looks great !!!

the 1st hood shot looks like someone sprinkled glitter on it
