I tried to keep these all as small as I could. I reformatted them between 58k and 90k, which should make them pretty easy to view for all. They were originally 2048 X 1536 and huge!



Your site here has inspired me to get my car all shiny like it was when I bought it a year and a half ago!



I am going to try some AIO soon as I put together a big order on Autopia for some new products and MF towels.



I will place some before and after shots, the car was extremely dirty, water spotted, hazed, tiny spiderweb like all over the body. The hood had crazy rock chips.



I spent about 13 hours total replacing the hood, installing hood pins and cleaning her up. I think it looks pretty good, but I can't wait for some new stuff to try.



This is after Dawn, Claymagic, Wash (mr.clean spot free rinse thingy from wal-mart) barely had to dry it with MF, NXT x 2 which I picked up at Target. Looking forward to trying some better products. Almost forgot that I used 3M scratch remover after the wash, I barely have an arm left! I thought it was hard as heck to remove by hand and ended up using a little detail spray to help. Maybe it would be easier if I end up getting a PC. I sure like waxing by hand though.

nice job, nice color, and nice car. :) of course, i'm sorta biased ;)



and a PC makes polishing so much easier, although i've found out that after i got my PC, i wanted to get rid of all the swirls/scratches :p
 
that chip is off the front of the old hood. The mustang fiberglass hoods chip paint like nobody's business, they just kinda flex and pop the paint off. It wasn't even a big rock that hit me, just a gravel chunk.



I looked at the 7336sp at Lowe's, but since they didn't have anything except sanding discs I just walked out.



Is the PC really easy to use? I would love to really get the spiderwebbies off instead of just hiding them. Dear God please tell me there is an easier compound to use than 3M for taking out the web's!



I am still sifting through all the info of this site, I am sure there is somewhere I can buy a PC and all the stuff I need along with it in one place!
 
you can get the 7336sp from lowe's and then go to the autopia-store, CMA, or autogeek, and order one of their foam pad kits w/backing plate, and you'll be set to get rid of the spiderwebs. well, i am assuming you are talking about going to the local Lowe's store, right?



or if you still want to get everything from one site, you can order them from one of the stores i've mentioned about. i'm not sure if other places sell the PC & pads as package, so you might want to look around first.



and the PC is really easy to use. the chance of messing up your paint is slim, unless you do something like drop it on the paint. :p

DavidB has a good write up on using a PC on the bettercarcare.com website, click on the 'learn' button in the upper right hand corner, the link to the write up should be on the main page. someone, i forgot who, also did a good write up on the different accessories for the PC, and this is located in the "hall of fame" section. i think it is called the definitive guide to PC accessories, or something.



but get one, it's probably one of the best thing to buy.



as far as polishes/compounds goes, there are a lot of them. where to begin? that might be a good question to ask in a new thread. :)
 
Is it just the way the pictures came out or do I see light swirling? The car is beautiful like it is, just imagine how much better it will be without those swirls.
 
It definitely has some swirly action going on, once I figure out how to use a PC I am all over it.



I tried 3M scratch remover by hand and it about killed my arm getting it off and didn't do anything noticeable to the swirlies.



They are small enough to be totally hidden by the NXT, but I am sure it would be even glassier with them gone.
 
Oh, definitely. I would try DACP or 3M PI II RC to get those swirls out. Use a yellow pad with your PC. Do very small sections at a time and start off with a slow setting. like 3 and work your way up to setting 5. After the whole car is de-swirled, you can come back with a milder polish ( I like 1Z PP ) with a white pad on setting 5 and add tons of depth to that blue. After polishing, make a pass with AIO and then top with NXT or whatever you choose. This is just and example, but you definitely have more of a shine hiding in there!
 
Also, I find that using sratch and swirl removers by hand just adds more scratches and swirls. Don't be scared to use the PC, that's what it's for.:up
 
Will NXT sit on top of AIO? I didn't know that.



I really liked NXT and really want to try out AIO, I think I will try that next. Thanks !
 
As far as I know it will. If it doesn't maybe someone could chime in, but I'm pretty sure you would be fine. I read on here recently that a lot of guys are worrying about compatibility issues a little too much. I say go for it. AIO mostly just preps the surface for your topper so I see it as a step that could definitely help, but don't substitute AIO for a good polishing. Your car definitely needs a little polishing to get where you want it to be.
 
i agree with JDookie. a PC is great and NXT can go over AIO. i think a few people have done that. also AIO can be used on a lot of other parts of the car, like the trim, headlights, rims, etc etc
 
We live near Craig and Decatur, I work for the Nevada Test and Training Range at Nellis.



I will keep an eye out for yellow S2000's :cool:
