'03 modded Cobra vs stock '06 Z06 Corvette (video)

Hot damn that Z06 got up and went! The Cobra stayed with it for 1st gear in the second race, then, bye bye! That supercharger wine though in the cobra... *drool*

eh, i still think of it this way:

Cobra=40k

Z06=75k

Z06>Cobra

but

Cobra + 35k in mods =

Cobra>Z06

well, in a straight line anyways, i still highly doubt that the thing can turn

That Cobra could have done better with the right driver like speed shifting is one, the guy was shifting like he was going on the fwy. The 06 Corvette 520+ hp & round 6 to 7 hundred pounds or torque as I do believe. I have no ideal what the specs the Cobra has?

dont forget that there is over 500 lbs of weight difference between the two cars. The Z06 weighs in a 3147 lbs and the cobra weighs in at a porky 3,665 lbs. 500 lbs advantage, higher horsepower, around the same torque, i would've been shocked if the Z lost.

On speed I watched the Z being tested - it is a true super car. And turns as well. Breaks top notch - the cobra is in a lower league.

the R32 is nice from a standstill, but as you go faster, the AWD tends to rob alot of power. Granted, once you get to insane power levels, it doesn't really matter anymore (read the AMS Evo).

I am not sue what you mean - 3.2 to 60, 11.00 sec to 1/4 mile 208mph top speed

When Motor Trend did a shootout, the R32 beat all the other ""exotic" cars in the test. Lambo, Ferrari, Porsche etc... the GTI came out as the winner. Total cost: $60000.

Try putting that much power on the front wheels! :D

So far nothing I have found seems to beat the HPA tuned GTI R32/Audi TT

The GTI with mods/labor is around $30000 +$32000 for the car that will beat almost everything that is available today at any price.

0-60 in 3.2 seconds 1/4 mile in 11.00 & 127.00 mph

30 grand is ALOTT for aftermarket mods. plus i think the fbody platform has that vw beat anyway. take 35000 for a new t/a ws6 (brand new 0 miles back in 02). and take a nice turbo setup around 18 psi and u got a easy single digit car.

either way i still think that 95% would rather have a mid 11 sec z06 than a 11 vw.

to each their own :lol
