The condition of this vehicle was 'good'. Some moderate swirling, light contamination, and standard levels of soil. I did the interior (no pics) and exterior and it took me a bit longer than usual (4.5 hours) due to some unnecessary breaks for rain:

My finals were:

-Dawn Wash

-Zaino Z18 Clay with Dawn Wash as lube

-P21s Wheel Cleaner on wheels/tires/wells

-'The UN-compound' - Hi-Temp Extreme Cut / Optimum Car Polish (50/50) via rotary and LC Yellow Cutting Pad @ 1500 rpm

-Optimum Car Polish / Clearkote Red Moose Glaze (70/30) via rotary and LC Red Finessing Pad @ 1200 rpm

-Zaino Z6 wipedown

-Zaino Z2 Pro (ZFX'd) by hand on paint, glass, and wheels

-Zaino Z6 to touch up

-Zaino Z16 on tires/wells

-Flitz and #0000 Steel Wool on FMIC and exhaust

No sun, so here's my swirl-free flash ;)

wow, must have been pretty swirled for yellow pad at 1500rpm..

interesting combo.. Opt. w/ Clearkote RMG ? what made you decide to mix the two ?

nice work and nice turn out on white

Sean----

I'm not much for heaping praise and the last thing I'll be known for is kissin' butt.....

but I've always enjoyed seeing your work ; ALWAYS a cut above.

Good job.

paint looks awesome man. interesting combos you got there. aren't those wrx's a pia to work on with all those rigid body lines! definately not one of my fav's to buff on.

looks great

 So clear, so wet!

Not only are your detailing skills top-notch but your photography skills are closing in as well. I really like how your camera can capture the wetness of white paint without washing out the white. :)

Thanks everyone :).

tumbler: The swirls were moderate. I made 2 pases with the combo compared to my usual two.

The OCP/RMG combo is pretty killer. The two help it finish perfect and the RMG adds a little extra wetness. The Z6 wipedown helps rid of any oils left over before applying the Z2 Pro.

Andrew: Went really well. The 'UN-Compound' finishes rather clean (minor hazing) and the final step really cleans it up well. On dark vehicles, I usually substitute with PO106FF/RMG which adds a bit more depth.

Vernon: Yep, but the flexible backing plate helps a lot. I *hate* working around that rear spoiler.

Scott: Thanks...I stayed an extra 15-20 minutes taking almost 60 shots! LoL. I had some time and wanted to practice on white, especially with my results today (my best white paint work to date). I found I had to dial down the e/v to effectively capture the look and play around a little with the white-balance.

I caught the angles by basically just walking around the car and crouching up and down. Then I played a bit with the manual focus to capture certain focal points.

You really brought out the potential of Aspen White. Did you encounter much contamination? My paint seems to collect tons of it and I have to clay often to keep it from getting out of hand.

Tell me about it! That and my STI scoop drive me up the wall! I've yet to find a good way to buff them with any of my 3 machines :nixweiss

Beautiful as always Sean!!! :2thumbs:

That is a HUGE front mount intercooler...what all does that beast have done to it??

Kenney: Which trim is this?

Fuji: The car is garaged so the contaminants were minimal (yes!).

Mike: Good question...I will see if the owner will chime in.

Thanks again.
