'02 GMMG Hot Rod Magazine Edition Z28 detail

MANY THANKS all for the very kind words!! :up

MongooseGA no...no plans for wet sanding. I've seen $80K BMW's with that level of OP so it doesn't bother me.

Jay as far as I know it has not received any body work as he bought the car new. I detail very few Z's or base TA's (mostly SS's and WS6's) so it is rare for me to get one of these GM painted hoods. It is a B4C so maybe the "quality control" (appearance wise) isn't as good on those vehicles since they are technically "service" cars?? :nixweiss

Lester you NEED to attend a Gathering one of these years...you'll be hooked. ;)

Forrest thanks for the info. I hope they come through the ATL in one of the legs. I know for a fact that their is a HUGE Ford and GM presence (and some Mopar too) down here that would love it.

One of these days I will, Mike!! I get hooked easily!!

BTW I wouldn't wetsand either. I've seen one fbody guy wetsand, as well as another in GMHTP. Either the live sample I saw wasn't done too well, or whatever, bc I wasn't that impressed. And you will come away with less clear. If you have paint wear issues or heavy oxidation and abuse, then ok. But good ol' oatmeal from the general's kitchen I've learned to eat heartily!!!!!!

I'm driving a '67 El Camino on the Tour this year - 572 big block and a quick change rear end. Hot Rod will be giving posters away of it on the Tour this year. We run from Milwaukee to Kissemmee/Orlando for 2005. Watch for my coverage.

Pics?

Every year when the Hot Run Tour rolls around, I miss my Chevelle.

I sold it in 1986 and I still have dreams about it every few months.

How do you like #21?

I like it. It reminds me of #20 in how it works...easy on and easy off with no dust or streaking. I actually find it a bit easier than NXT liquid to use as it isn't as thick. I tried a little spot on the car before I prepped it to see how the #21 was by itself and it doesn't seem to have very much (if any) cleaning ability. To my eye the look is almost a dead ringer for NXT. It deepens the paint and has that glossy tone to it just like NXT. The only difference I could see between #21 and NXT was that the reflections seemed a bit sharper...like #20.

Going forward I think I'll continue to use #20 on lighter colors and the new #21 on dark colors. I can retire NXT to personal / friend use and not have to carry that goofy bottle around with me anymore!
