01 GTP w/ghost flames

I did a full detail job on a 01 Grand Prix GTP black with ghost flames today. The car was obviously neglected for a long time and there was massive swirling. I cleaned the engine, interior, polish, seal, wax. I got this customer on a online car club, she is the president of the club ;).

The mods include: flames, headers, intake, pulley, exhaust, suspension and a bunch of other things I cant remember. The car was pretty cool minus the wheels and a F-up front end which, there was nothing I could do about. Massive cracking and chipping etc. There was also water spots all over.

Anyway here are the before pics:

It would be great if you can show the before and after photos on the same spots where the swirls are and under the same lighting. And yes the car looks much better now, keep up the good work :2thumbs: .

That's a big improvement for sure. What machine/pads/products did you use on it? Looks like it needs another pass or two with polish, but don't take that the wrong way, because it looks MUCH better!!

I used Turtle wax 2001 polish with the PC. And that is because I ordered all the stuff for this (poorboys SSR2.5, new clay bar, AIO, and all propel pads) over a week ago and expected it by this time. Unfortunately it didn't come. I told the owner of the GTP that and apoligized and told her I can do it next week, but she said it was fine and I shouldn't worry about getting every little thing perfect. So I proceded and marked down the price by 40%. Anyway she was very happy with the results, although I really wasn't too happy. I told her I would do it again next time for 25% off with all the right stuff.

BTW this is my first true full detail of something older than a 03, I wasn't really prepared, I know.

As far as taking pics in the same places, I would have but like most have already stated it still had swirls so I decided not to take the same ones, instead take ones that make it look better.

And process was wash with dawn, clay with Mothers, polish with Turtle wax 2001 and PC with white pad, then P21s, wheels were also polished and tires were dressed with castrol tire shine. Interior was dust, vacuum, clean all stains, armor all all plastics (besides steering wheel and shifter, which I used Mothers protectant, non oily), clean leather, condition leather, clean windows inside and out, polish pedals (billet flame pedals) and I think thats it. Engine was cleaned with simple green and a towel, then mothers protectant on all plastics and rubber, QD all metal, and polish all billet and chrome. I'm pretty shure that covers everything.

Oh, ya and I went over that hood about 8 times with no more improvement. And yes that was at higher speeds and different pressure.
