It all went down with the newborn

So who's let their guard down after having a couple ~munchkins~ in the mix.
Hell, I have everyone from the wife down to my mother know to use the door handles when closing the door.

Yesterday, I broke down. It was so jammed in the SUV, I ended up throwing a movers blanket uptop and strapped the pair of strollers uptop. It's a slippery slope from here how much more user induced marring I allow ;-)

Hey you gotta do what you gotta do! We are going on a 12 hour long drive on vacation. I know there will be snacks and drinks with kids in the back...I'm going to have to let it happen I guess and expect a heavy detail weekend when we get back!

Heh. It has had it's ++ moments for sure.

I'm actually thinking about adding a Thule Carrier or a Hitch Wagon to the mix of things.
Back in the younger days, the Snowboard rails created too much noise.
Then again, I'm not a fan of so much weight off the mount......

I'm glad my kids were teenagers when I started detailing! Although, they still use the paint to close the door instead of the pillar or handle. I think we've at least gotten past using the foot to open the door from the inside and feet on glovebox area...etc.

I honest to God gave up on my wife's car. That's all I have to say about that..
Me too. She has so many scratches. She'll put boxes on her hood then drag them off. Now it's wash and a sealant (by hand) over any scratches to offer a little protection from the UVs. Maybe done every 6 months.

Same. Wife and daughter's car don't get much attention from me anymore. Rarely even wash them except at the touchless down the street. I'll wash every once in a while, if nothing else, just to get some spraywax on there.

I done a knock out 25 hour detail on her car back in Oct and put a heavy coat of OC 2.0 on it, so the exterior stays in half way decent shape until she starts hitting the mud holes (she doesn't make an effort to avoid anything in the road..if its in her path its hit). The interior on the other hand is damn near a total loss. I'll detail it really well one more time right before it gets traded in, but until then I'll continue to open the doors and blow it out with the air gun and call it done.
