Obviously, I'm with Nizmo, Gearhead, classofshine and Stokdgs - go DE.

If you are trying to go cheap and can avoid the various ADs (Acquistition Disorders - hard because your life will change dramatically for the better), get a RazoRock Jaws ($15) or Mission ($20), Omega 10049 brush (<$10), Astra blades ($10 for 100 & @ ~3 shaves/blade = better part of a year) and Stirling soap (~$7/puck = several months). From that point on, it is just blades and soap.

Nothing compares and you'll never look back.

Uh... no... hmmm... uh... no.. well... ummm... just that fact that he's going through so few blades for that much geography.

Once I switched to Jack Black's Beard Lube my razor life went from about 3 weeks to over 6 weeks before noticing any drop-off in closeness and pull.

Note: I use the Fuzion pro-glide blades and am not a terribly beardy individual.

When I have spare time for it, I prefer to use a straight razor. Much more luxurious than any modern safety razor. Think of it as detailing for your face
