back after a long hiatus

Hi all. I'm reintroducing myself after a long time away. I was on this forum like 10 years ago, but I haven't been around in a long time.
My 2007 Tornado Red GTI has been well-maintained since new with the techniques and products I learned about here. But it's time for some new stuff!

The plan is for some paint correction with Meguiar's UC and their swirl mark remover (assuming my old bottle is still good). The Menzerna Power Lock caught my eye too - any thoughts on the Power Lock with a red car? I really prefer the carnauba look on red, but with my daily driver in New England I'd prefer something that wears a little better. Maybe Power Lock and my Pinnacle on top? Or is there something that will give me a better/deeper/wetter look?

Welcome back. If you just back after 10 years, lots is new. Look around at all the new products especially coatings. I would suggest those over wax any day.

I have Gtechniq on my wheels which seems to be doing well. But I've never been a fan of the "synthetic" look on red. I like the traditional carnauba look so I'd be looking for something I could layer, and from what I've read the coatings don't allow for carnauba on top.
But I'll do some more research here and see what pops up. Thanks!

Welcome back! Post a picture of your GTI when you get a chance.

A pic from last summer.

And proof that she is a New England daily driver:

After catching up on all the latest and greatest info, I decided to hit my car with some Meg's Ultimate Compound, swirl remover, and then a combo of the Menzerna Power Lock and Color Lock. The Tornado Red on my GTI looks fantastic!! And all the products were SO much easier to work with than the stuff I've been using the last few years.
Thanks Autopians!
