Ill keep it short. 2006 Chevy Cobalt, Laser Blue Metallic; nasty scratch down to the metal on the nose of the hood. My brother bought a tube of touch up paint from the dealership, and gave it his best shot:

How do I fix this? Should I use an eraser wrapped in sandpaper and try to wet sand it down? Cheers.

Id say it is thru the clear... Short of sanding the area down to the metal and feathering the repair area out, priming, painting and re-clearing the whole hood... not much you can do as far as I know.

If you are thinking about removing just the touch up paint you can VERY CAREFULLY use some paint thinner on a towel and probably remove most of it.

Yes, it was VERY deep- down through the primer to the steel. I will give the paint thinner a shot, perhaps with q-tips or a very narrow sponge applicator. Thanks for the tip!

Go over it with the Langka Blob Eliminator. I think AG still sells it - if not it's on Amazon. If your seeking perfection - seek a body shop for a re-spray.
