Griots 6" repair

For those of you that have had to send in your GG polisher to Griot's for repair or replacement under warranty, just wondering how long it usually takes? I sent it in 2 Monday's ago and it got to them that Wednesday. So this Wednesday (tomorrow) will be 2 weeks. Supposed to have a detail this weekend. I can call them, but thought I would get some input here first before I bother them.

It should be getting there soon. It usually takes a couple weeks to get the new one. I'd call them though just for good measure since you have a job coming up.

I can't exactly recall but when it sent my 3" polisher back for warranty replacement, it took about 3-5 weeks total to get it all back to me. Not to bad IMO but can see how it sucks if you're pressed on a job. Have you considered perhaps going to Harbor Freight and scoring their cheap DA just to get by for the day? It's like $40 after coupons and can be a nice backup or dedicated polisher with a smaller plate when you get your griots back.

I've sent back 3 polishers. I can't recall the exact amount of time, but 2 weeks sounds about right

You should ALWAYS have a backup polisher IMO

I have considered that. Luckily this one broke towards the end of a detail and it was my own car. Since Advance Auto sells them, I could always run out and pick one up in a pinch if I absolutely had to.

For anyone interested, my polisher is supposed to be delivered tomorrow, so exactly 2 weeks from when they received it. They had it for a week in house before they shipped back out. Pretty good service IMO. Just wish they would provide updates or at least a shipping email with tracking number when they send it back out. :bigups

That's a good thing. If you're ever in that pinch again you could purchase the polisher and return it at a later date. Griots has a no questions asked return policy
