light scratches in mirror polished stainless?

Hey guys I just put on a mirror polished stainless radiator shroud. Today while I wasn't looking my son grabbed a rag and decided to wipe it. Now there is an area with small scratches in it. Besides calling the company that makes it and possibly sending it back does anyone know how to polish stainless to a mirror finish with no sanding marks or anything. It literary looks like a mirror its polished that nice.

I spent many years in a mold polishing shop polishing stainless steel injection molds. I could tell you exactly how to do it, but its going to require some tools and equipment that is not only expensive and hard to find, but also takes years to master. Your best bet is to bite the bullet and send it back. To reach that super refined mirror finish on stainless, it requires multiple sanding and flattening steps, and it has to be brushed and buffed with industrial diamond. Its a very time consuming process to do it right.
 
So, basically, you are going to send it back because it was scratched by someone in your family, and you are now thinking the finish is unacceptable ?

Actually before you judge. I was going to talk to them to see if they could polish it if I send it back.
 
I've had great look polishing stainless using 3M compounds and polishes, just like paint...

Finally, old school Mother's Mag & Aluminum Polish was used to remove any faint marks, haze or holograms...
