Pollen Season Starting Here

Old Pirate

AMG Classic Car Detailing
Well it just started here this week and it will be nasty as always. I always keep my rides clean and protected with Blackfire Wet Diamond and with FK1 this year. What are you going to use when the pollen comes knocking on your car?

BTW I know alot of your are dealing with old man winter still, but this pollen will pay you a visit later on.....

The FK1 is the only thing that remotely helps here...what I have problems with is the trees where the wife parks. Drop this yellow sap type of stuff, it's not like an oil based sap, but I tell you they glue themselves to the paint..so I have to keep the car sealed and waxed so they lift easier...needless to say I hate this time of the year.

Citrus Wash, Clay, 1Z Perls + hydro2 = gloss and bullet proof. I say let the games begin, this winter leaves mother nature down by 1 so far ;)

If you really want to go crazy 1Z perls, Hydro2 & Reload/polymer netshield. The water won't get off the paint fast enough, neither will pollen.

For quick refreshes I use 1Z perls and a nanoskin wash mitt, everything comes off and the hydro stays on.

Pollen still sticks to Polymer Netshield, we've had pollen here in central florida for about 2 weeks now and my car was COATED in yellow. Luckily we had 2 big rains here in the last few days hopefully wash some of it away.

Hmm, well then reload it is. It's not of matter of wether sticks as long as it removes easily via water or waterless wash. I just use a qd most of the time like hybrid v7 with a plush mf and I'm good to go... My eye's though not so much.:(

Glad I found this post. I am also in florida and the pollen has been bad the past 2 weeks in Port Saint Lucie. Was wondering if there is anything to help the pollen not to stick.

There is not much we can do about pollen sticking to a dry car. It was designed by mother nature to stick!

However, a good, high-quality paint sealant can make it release with just water, which is equally important. As the picture above shows, pollen is very abrasive when just wiped off the paint.

So a sealant would be better than a carnuba? I have a new can of Ultimate paste from Megs. Being a polymer do you think this would help in this scenario?
