What Went Wrong!

I've been a big fan of rinse-less washes with the GDWM. I haven't done the two bucket in months. Anyways so today i brought out the pressure washer, foam canon,Chenille wash mitt CG Honeydew and stared to go to work. everything went good when it came to the drying process I sprayed Prima Hydro Wax As You Dry Spray. After i was done there was a TON of marring!!! I had just polished My black car couple weeks ago with Dodo Juice Supernatural Micro Prime topped with Auto Finesse Tough Coat and one coat of Auto Finesse Temptation. The car was free of swirls and marring but today I have no idea what happened.. maybe it was my towels but I've never had a problem. any ideas of what may I have done wrong? any feedback is good feedback .. thanks:autopia::wall:wall:wall:wall

Either there was/is something stuck in your mitt or your towels. Did you use the same towels for the GDWM as what you used the Prima with? Could be your MF's. What kind were you using?

Is your wash process: foam, then use rinseless with pre-soaked towels with one towel used per wipe? How large is your wipe area? Did you wipe in a straight line and do you see straight line swirls? Was the marring all over or localized?

Mitt's might have something in it, paint soft, or you didn't notice them before because they were cover up with a product that hide them from you. Sorry to here this.

I usually wash and dry in opposing directions (up and down, left and right) so if I notice any marring I can isolate which step caused it. Likely dirt that got stuck in either the wash mitt or drying towel... Very heartbreaking when this happens.

Never thought about doing that. Great idea Todd. I will be changing my routine some. :)

I've had this happen to me before on my motorcycle :( such a disheartening feeling. I was being careless with a clay bar and marred my finish. What are you going to polish it with now to restore the finish?

I don't really have anything to add but a thought.... Isn't DoDo Micro Prime more of a prewax glaze? It could have possibly hid the defects temporarily? The two bucket wash could have removed the fillers from the paint? All speculation of course. I feel for ya!

My experience is very limited with Micro Prime. I've only used it twice. I did have a light filling effect, but I found most of the "glaze" seems to darken or wetten (made up word) the paint.

When used with a DA and a white polishing pad, I found Micro Prime strong enough to remove towel marks and light swirls, while leaving a flawless & extremely wet-looking shine.
