Roboreel... I got one, video inside.

The Driver

Detailers Workshop
So if you guys haven't heard of it, it's called the roboreel by greatstuffinc. I must say when I first saw it I was ehh. After watching some reviews an the promo, I half sold. Then the other day I had a mobile job an all the cords were just irritating me, all I could thing about was buying the stupid thing. I found one on ebay for a little more than half an decided to pull the trigger.

Here's a quick pic on the wall and a video.

Video! First click turns the power off, second click is for the reel to activate.

I have one also but the ceiling mount version. Hangs in the middle of my garage ceiling and swivels. Use it for polishing and vacuming, running the leaf blower and for lighting.

Very kool but also very premium priced item. It works great and is out of the way and perfect for my lazy *&$.

Ron IIRC, you can plus up to 3 things into the end. AS LONG AS IT IS NOT THE METRO BIG BOY BLOWER. Ask me how I know LOL. it will pop the breaker very quickly. I actually ran a dedicated circut in the garage for the Metro dual motor vac.

interesting, but how will it keep cords from tangling with other cords?

You're missing out on one very cool feature of this thing (I have one as well): You can set it so the retraction stops at a certain point to avoid swinging (ceiling mount) or banging of the receptacle end (shelf mount) and then the last little bit of the cord is pulled into the ball slowly. I have mine mounted on a shelf and programming it to stop just before lifting off the floor keeps that big 3 way receptacle from slamming into the lower part of the cabinet. Yep, it's a very expensive extension cord, but it's flat out awesome, too!

used to have the industrial version when worked at gas station (service station) centuries ago, for power, light and other for air etc

How do you program it to stop or slow down?

I programmed mine the same way. I think you need to press the power off button 2x while it is retracting at the point you want it to slow down. Very kool premium product for sure. Necessary NO helpful YES.

I use it everytime I vacuum the cars or run the buffer. It is a great tool but on the expensive side of fair. I would buy again, think it is worth it from what I have seen so far. I am sure many will disagree but it is not a question of right or wring, just opinion.

It comes down to paying a premium for something that takes the hastle aw
I need reels to organize several cords. It looks nice.

Great idea. Keeps cord from buffer from hitting car

Mine is ceiling mounted and I extend it enough to lay on the floor when I buff but when winding up, there is not fear of hitting the car and it can run the 6" GG and 3" GG off one chord.

That's awesome!

Though I probably would not purchase one myself I certainty admire yours and am jealous haha =)

Maybe I can get Steve to get one for PBW :D

One quick question for ya .... when pulling out is it a powered pull, like a winch, or a free spool out? (let me know if you don't get what I'm saying)

Edit: One more, how long is it?
