adding a bit of bling to CF

The new Vette dash is a true carbon fiber but they have made it a satin finish so there is no reflection. However, many want it to have a bit more pizazz....any ideas?

Would a WOWA add a bit of depth and luster? OC 2.0? What else?...without taking the dash out, so clear coat is not a option...looking for a product...

 
i wonder if just fine polishing the satin finish would shine it up glen ? then follow up with some cs. you might check with the dealer, pulling that front dash fascia might not be as difficult as you think.

Thanks - remains to be seen - yeah I will try a test sport of something like sf4500 Menz and then CS but want the surface to be uniform....

If I can get the plate out, it would be great, but there is a ton of crap inset into it...
 
I know from dealing with my satin black painted wheels (which I eventually treated like faded single stage and polished out) and wanting them to be glossier without a refinish that Adam's quick sealant, CG Glossworkz Glaze, CG Blacklight and V7 combo will all add gloss to satin finish paint.

You don't want it to be super shiny though, it will blind you when the sun hits it and it glares back in your face. Pretty sure that's why Chevy went with matte CF and not high gloss. I'd just try some glaze that has no abrasives in it just to add that wet look over the top of it and give it a bit of depth and glow. You can always clean glaze off if you don't like the look. There's no going back once you start to polish it to a shine however.
 
Having worked on matte finishes here is what I would recommend.

Yes adding Crystal Seal or any WOWA will add a SLIGHT amount of luster.

I wouldn't recommend using wax or liquid sealants because the solids in them can get "stain" (for lack of a better term) the microscopic texture that makes it matte.

Do not polish it with anything abrasive. Yes this will add sheen, but it will not be even, trust me.

I think the flat carbon looks amazing, btw, and it is on the cutting edge of were carbon design is going. If you want more shine, the only way to do it right would be to have it lightly sanded and clear coated.
