SS6 Second Skin Hybrid Vehicle Coating System

Wow, that little man is annoying to listen to...

Its brand new apparently, so there is not much history to look back on..

The little feller says its good for years, so perhaps they have been testing it on Vehicles for years ? Yes? No ?

Optimum OptiGuard and OptiCoat has been around for what - 7 years now ?

I hear no one complaining about the Optimum products falling off their cars yet, so perhaps Optimum has done it right ?

Optimum OptiGuard has been on my Black Grand Cherokee for over 1 year now, and it is still holding up and beautiful when I wash the car and dry it. I dont even have a lot of surface scratches to worry about either, so this coating is still living up to the description I read back in 2006..

I love that dirt doesnt stick to it as much as before the Coating, and washing it is so much easier to do because of this..

it was just released. Late to the party with coatings. Sometimes being late may be a good thing. They had enough time to research the competition. Time will tell if it's any good.

i guess in reality, for a coating, it's still hard to beat opti coat. i like trying different products so i haven't pulled the trigger on the opti coat yet.

I waited for Years, to see if Optimum had a winner or not..

I believe David Fermani or someone in his group of friends went down exactly in half of an entire vehicle with half being the first design Optimum Opticoat. There were lots of pics, but unfortunately on another website that ultimately went away.
It was amazing to see how well the coating did against the half of the car that had nothing.
Last I heard, it is still on there and doing fine.

The first time you do whatever coating you decide to use, the 1st thing I remember thinking - "why did I Wait so long?"

It really made a difference in how much stuff stuck to my Jeep and how much easier it was to wash it when I did wash it.

Good luck with your research !

Not sure what benefit this product would offer over C Quartz, except it's almost 2x the price. I got a feeling we will see "Adam's America Coating" soon

I asked a question about this product when they posted it on a Facebook group I am a part of.

I was told it is better than anything else out there. When I asked for info as to what makes it better I was told: "OC, CQ, 22ple are not VOC compliant and can't be legally sold in the USA. I question this; and it's really funny that now that post on FB is now deleted...

In my opinion this sounds very similar to the new DP coating. An even the CG website only lists the durability of "1 year+ depending on climate and application". So the "this will last years" is big leap IMO.

Obviously I am skeptical as I am of many new product that come to market now and have outlandish claims. But as always I am open to the possibility that they are truly great and revolutionary. And I am always open to do the testing and reviews to prove or disprove the case.

Well, Optimum Opti-Guard, OptiCoat Pro, Opti-Coat 2.0, whatever you want to call it, has been sold in the USA for years, directly from Optimum or on dozens of Detailing stores on line...

So much for the "they are not VOC compliant" statement...

Agreed.

They don't really like it when you ask for fact rather than hype...

Really this could be the greatest thing ever.... But i'll never try it or anything from CG's.... It's kinda bad when someone who represents a company makes such a bad impression on you that even if they have the best products in the world you refuse to use them.... It's ok though CG probably doesn't want business since I like to buy in such bulk. I know manufactures hate guys like me who are like "can I get this in a 55 gallon drum?" oh well.
