This article is a little fluffed up... Having worked for Bugatti USA and directly for John Hill, I can say that some of this stuff just isn't true.
Now if you lease it, I do believe that you have to have it inspected at certain points have it detailed to bring it up to spec. I do not believe, at all, there is some required 10k detailing..
Also the annual inspection thing, again I believe is incorrect. IIRC, it is every 2500 miles, which is the annual limit per lease. I believe, like any car there are regularly scheduled maintenance inspections, and if you are leasing it you are contractually obligated to doing it.
After seeing the fit and finish of (while working on) several Veryons, after riding in a few, and driving few.. I get it. It is simply the most prestigious, most crazy, most advanced, most stupid fast car you can buy. It is exclusive beyond exclusive. It perfectly carries forward with the true (1930s) Bugatti legacy.
It is everything that made the Miura the supercar of the 70s and the F40 the super car of the 1980s. Its fast, its ridiculously engineered, its impossible to live with day to day, its outrageous, and it's high maintenance.
