Armour All, back from the dead?

Last Christmas, my non-detailer mindset family bought me an Armour All gift pack which included a mini bottle of protectant.

Two weeks ago when I detailed my car, I figured 'why not' and used the stuff on my tires. I sprayed it on and after I was done with the paint, I wiped off the excess.

To my surprise, two weeks later after a week of rain, two washings and over 700 miles, the tires still look clean and black and are still beading water. Needless to say, I am amazed.

Looks like I might have to buy a regular sized bottle and start experimenting. :inspector:

Armor-All Extreme Shine has been my go-to tire shine for years. The reason people bash AA on the forums is because vendors can't make money off of them ..... and the crowd follows along :lost sheep:

Don,
Trouble,

My idea is :

1. We have good users and bad products.
2. We have good products and bad users.

I use the AA wheelcleaner and shampoos, they all work fine and do their job. I follow the good reviews on autopia and my own experience!

Besides AA I use Dodo, Meg, CC, Sonax, Gloss it etc ... .

Greetz.

Which AA product is it? I have a couple things of AA in my garage collecting dust and don't know what to do with it. This sounds like a good alternative for it. :)

Hy BoostinXx,

I bought the stuff below here in Belgium.

Armor All Extreme Wheel & Tire Cleaner : orange bottle, yellow top.
Armor All Intensive car shampoo : green bottle.
Armor All wash and wax : blue bottle.
Armor All protectant : wheel sealant.

They all work fine and I use the green shampoo as a foam to remove tree sap and light dust, it rinces very well also.

Just give it a try :) .

I thought the same thing after I used Turtle Wax tire spray(can't think of what it is called now, it is a bright green spray bottle) and the stuff looked great for 2 weeks and think I even posted about it. At the 3 week point and the 3rd washing my tire turned brown and stained. I am now using the bottle up to keep the fender wells black and that is it. I guess my point is your Armor All may be looking great now but you may want to wait a little while longer before you stock up.

That's why you use it on your girlfriends car. Lol

I think Scott from Texas uses AA products and he does a lot of cars. Hey, back in the day, what was there? Right, and although there are many choices now, I'd say keep an open mind and don't fall into the "if Walmart sells it it's crap" mentality.
I bought some AA paint protection stuff after that Tony Stuart commercial, it works. And I use it on rims, looks good and lasts longer than Wheel Wax. I like the look, but it doesn't feel slick on paint like BFWD, and I love a slick paint feel. BUT, looks and protection - check, it's got it.

Skibib,
Kou Bunn,

That's also the reason why we keep on searching for the best we personally like, the reason we test / buy / abuse / refuse and share on fora.

Greetz.

Just an update on the AA Protectant...after about three weeks, tons of rain, being washed twice with carwash soap and about 1,500 miles, my tires still look clean and black, no traces of browning or blooming yet.
