Let there be light...

Already found some scratches with it that I won't work on until my fall strip/polish/seal. Supposed to do my brother's car in the next few weeks so should get some good feel for it then.
 
That thing looks sweet! I might have to pick up one. Do you know the lumens it puts out?

2500 Lumens. I think there are 48 LED's between the 3 panels (12/24/12?). For $100 I couldn't resist. I had been watching the stock the last couple days between the 2 HD stores that had them here and they were selling about 2 per day. One store sold out and I got the last of 2 this morning at the other store.
 
I plan on picking one of these up as well. I can't deal with the heat of halogens during the summer so it's time for a change.

Virtually none. I feel a little when they first kick on, like they are warming up, but after about 10 seconds, there is virtually no heat. Box says "cool to the touch" and fully agree. After a few minutes I can stick my hand right on the lenses and they feel cool.

That sounds awesome! I can't tell you how many times I've burnt myself on my halogen lamp. I'm gonna have to get one. :)

I'm also curious as to how it works for you. I just bought a halogen lamp and already dislike the heat
 
I was looking through our local ads that come in the trade paper. I remembered reading this thread and when browsing the store ads I seen this same thing in Ace on sale for $79. Just thought I would give out an FYI that if you have an Ace store and are buying these check then out to see if you can save yourself $20.

I just looked at the ad, it has just about the same description and specs but even though they look just about identical the Ace one looks to be an Ace brand though.

Yep, looks like the same one except the red parts are black and black parts are red (compared to the one I bought).

I supposed damaged out of the box will piss some people off. Mine all work and I don't know what that guy was talking about 3 screws that hold the pole to the base or whatever. Anyway, always a chance things like this can damage during shipping. Mine is plenty sturdy and the legs can spread way out and make it even sturdier.
