Prima line review

PA DETAILER

DETAILED TODAY?

wanted to try a different line. so it is.

AMIGO: wanted to clean and prep the paint to ready it for HYDRO SEAL. grey in color. like toothpaste. applied by hand with a white CS pad. no drama or issues here. removed with a MF towel. left the finish clean with mild correction of surface defects. it did deepen the color and looked great.

HYDRO SEAL: this i really wanted to try. armed myself with a spray bottle of water, two MF towels and HYDRO SEAL. small learning curve here. you soak one MF with water. wring it out till damp. mist the panel with water. put about a quarter size dollop of HYDRO SEAL on the MF and work it in. spread it on the panel till it flashes then wipe off any remaining residue with the other MF. continue on. all glass and plastic can be treated too! wanted to note: really does justice to the plastic trim! BIG BONUS. wow. left a slick deep shine. paint really looked like glass. if you get some streaking, no worries. just mist the panel with water again and wipe. the look is somewhere between a carnuba wax and sealant. really stunning. a really different and easy way to apply a sealant. :bigups

HYDRO: WAX AS U DRY SPRAY. i can see why users of this rated it #1. i used it dry with MF towel. mist the panel and wipe off. easy. i wanted to try it and by doing so insured the xterra was covered with HYDRO. amazing look. again like glass. and it was noted after some curing time it even looks better! checked it this morning, and indeed the shine deepened if thats possible!

nice part about this 3-step is once you use AMIGO then HYDRO SEAL your good to go. you can maintain with the HYDRO spray as needed. (checked with NICK of PRIMA on this).

the bottles, sprayer and smell of the PRIMA products were outstanding. and no MF were harmed in this detail. washed clean with MF cleaner.

so there you have it. PRIMA. different, easy to use and great results.

DURABILITY: nick stated anywhere from 6-8 months.

been using Amigo and Hydro spray for years now. bright red car and dark charcoal truck both look great after spriz spray. got some new towels from heath and away i go. Amigo has saved my butt on some simple one steps that needed depth of color. easy to use.

Thanks for the report.

I got some samples of Amigo, Epic, and Banana Gloss but have not had a chance to use them. I almost used the Epic today but it mentioned curing so I used something else.

Epic doesn't require a cure. Rain doesn't affect it. Don't wash with soap for 24 hours as detergent may affect durability.

Hydro seal really looked like too much work when the vid first came out.

So you say its easy??

it really was. its just that the application is so different than what we are use to when applying wax or sealant. and it is forgiving. first time is different, but as you move along you see whats happening and you got it. i love the fact it can be used on all exterior surfaces. glass and plastic too. i could not believe the look it gave to the plastic trim! a big plus! i had some sun to deal with, but worked around it. i would do it on a cloudy day or in the shade. you can knock out a vehicle in 10-15 min. tops! and when you come back in 24 hours, the shine is more intense.

I've used Hydro Seal, but only for in between major details.

Amigo
Epic
Wash n Dry with Hydro

Then Hydro Seal a couple of times before another major strip and wax.

When I use Hydro Seal, I do the entire car and let it haze. Then I spritz each panel with Hydro and buff it to a brilliant shine. Spit-shine look. Yes, it's more work. Certainly not for a lazy man. :D

it was a perfect morning here in PA........so, what can one more coat of hydro seal do? :D it was cloudy and nice out. i wanted to check the application and get use to it. SHADE is your friend here! and very little water needs spritzed on the surface. you can see it flash. a quick MF wipe..DONE! a quick tip for the glass....once your done with the vehicle, take your application MF that is already loaded with hydro seal, and do the glass. follow with a MF wipe for perfect glass!

i am really starting to love this stuff. :bigups

Bunky,

I see what you mean. But I've never wasted the effort on two coats of Epic. One coat, allow it to dry for 45 minutes, mist with Hydro and buff to a brilliant shine.Talk about tight water beads.

I was going to use it yesterday but wanted to top it with a paste. After reading the label, I thought it may need curing so I just skipped it so will use it at a later date.

hmmmmmmm

just wanted to add......
been using this over a month now. hydro seal/hydro. LOVE THE LOOK AND PERFORMANCE! after you get a good coat of hydro seal down, and maintain it with hydro wax as u dry, it really provides stunning results. a crystal look. somewhere between a sealant and carnuba. water beading and sheeting is amazing.

got to use hydro soap recently. also really liked this wash. used before a application of hydro seal or to maintain the hydro sealed finish.

Banana gloss is super easy to use and looks great. Durability isn't strong but ease of use and a great look makes it a winner in my book. Nick was kind enough to send me a sample for the nuba threa at L2D. BG was actually one product that really impressed me. Did I mention it is super easy to use? ;)

I prepared the paint with Amigo, then topped with Epic.

I mixed up some Hyrdro/Hydro Seal (3 parts Hydro-1 part Hydro Seal); using a misting sprayer to each panel; wiped on evenly with same cloth, then buffed away haze with another cloth.

Amazing deep gloss shine and more than sufficient protection. I plan to use this process every other wash and it should preserve the shine and provide adequate protection all summer long.
