Hi everyone, today we've got a brand spankin' new 2013 Ford Focus ST in the flagship color Tangerine Scream. This color is very cool because depending on the light it can look anywhere from a dark orange to a bright yellow, and it has tons of pearl. The customer wanted to have Opti-Guard applied to the vehicle to give it protection for it's new life.

Upon arrival the vehicle was fairly dirty, so we opted for a traditional wash. Here is how it looked when we pulled it in.

We washed the vehicle with Meguiars Hyperwash and cleaned the wheels, tires, and wheel wells with Meguiars APC. The customer still has his winter wheel and tire set up installed, so we will be applying Opti-Guard to his factory wheels in the spring.

We noticed after washing that there were a few stains on the paint that were not removed with the wash.

We ended up removing these during the decon stage with a light claying. Most of the vehicle was in great shape, so we only had to clay specific areas that were stained or had a bit of contamination.

It was very difficult to capture the swirls on this vehicle since it's a light color and there is so much pearl. Here is the best shot I could get in the sun.

And here is a closeup of the same shot to better show the swirls. they certainly aren't bad, but they would need to be corrected before applying the Opti-Guard.

For the correction step we again reached for the Rupes Bigfoot 21 armed with a green Uber Pad and Menzerna 106fa. With the power of the Rupes this combo yielded incredible results. We couldn't find any additional swirls or RIDs on the paint after the correction step. Here is how it looked in the sun after the paint was wiped down with Eraser but before the Opti-Guard was applied.

Next Opti-Guard was applied to the paint, trim, and glass. We will apply it to the factory rims when they are re-installed in the spring. Here is how it all turned out.

what a great looking car. like the exhaust in the middle very unique look. And looks like there wasnt much swirls to begin with so thats nice

turned out very nice. love the color.
Thanks! I liked working on the color, but I'm not sure I could drive something that color everyday.
Great job Dave. I love that color. Amazing results with the Rupes and 106.
Thanks! I've been so impressed with the results from the Rupes thus far!
That's one great looking little spaceship.
LOL, thanks!

Thanks, I agree, I love how the exhaust is set up as well, and the overall look of the car. It's very aggressive for a Focus.
Nice work!
Thank you!
Car looks amazing! Great job.
Thanks!
Looks great. Not a fan of the car, but the color is pretty good looking!
Thanks! I have to admit this car was a blast to work on and drive. It's got every feature you could want on the inside (leather racing seats, huge nav screen, dual zone climate, seat heaters, bluetooth, hid headlights, moonroof, etc.) and it's got 250hp so it's a lot of fun to drive while still getting pretty good gas mileage. I'm not sure it would win a lot of races, but I wouldn't mind having one for a daily driver.
