Dramm Water Shut off Review

Dramm Water Shut off

I use a water shut off with the Gilmour quick disconnect system so I can change hook to pressure washer, fire hose nozzle, garden sprayer, or a cut off hose end to sheet water after washing. I had a decent full flow Gilmour shut off made of steel/plastic and it started to leak so was in the market for a better one.

I found one made by Dramm on amazon after noticing one sold by another detailing supplier so started a search. It is made in USA.

This is an all brass design with a very easy to use rotating shutoff - much better than the Gilmour that was more difficult to turn. It is also a full flow design (1/2 inch diameter) compared to many shutoffs.

A nice tool to have. I expect it to last a long time.

Very nice Al.

I will have to look into getting ne as my Gilmour versions are coming loose at the knob. I keep haveing to tighten the screw back down every time I go to use it.

I absolutely agree! Line Mike, I've broken so many of those plastic ones and even some just tightening them......Nice review Al! :bigups

Once you go brass you never go back..................or something like that....

Great find, Al. I have broken my share of the home improvement store variety.

Mike, I feel your pain!! :wall

Nice! I have one too and i've thrown it on the ground (concrete) multiple times per use. This thing can take a beating and I've had mine over a year and works perfectly.

17 bucks at Amazon and can't beat the quality.

I've had one for a few months and I really like it. I think it doesn't restrict the water as much as my old one either. My old shutoff was all brass but when I went looking for another I found that they aren't made the same anymore. The Dramm is much heavier than any I can find in the stores. It's built to last that's for sure

My only complaint (I you can even call it that) my quick connects interfere with the lever on the Dramm. I have to remove the rubber grip on the quick connect to avoid interfering with the lever.

I did notice this but did not seem to affect the water flow but then I have low water flow due to a whole house water softener.

The pressure a my place is pretty good so that might have something to do with it.

I hear Dramm's quick connects are good too but they don't sell the male and female connectors separate from what I can see.

I've been using one for years and it works well with the Adam's nozzle.

Easy thumb control if you loosen the lever nut a bit.
