CarPro orange peel removal pads... Initial thoughts

They are aggressive! Average removal is about .2-.3 mils per application! But I have NEVER seen such leveling power.

Wow. Very impressive. To think you were able to do this without the use of a DA sander.

Gotta try these!

would they have been less aggressive if you had used something less potent than Menzerna FG 400 maybe like a Menzerna polish?

Great results Todd. That is impressive after 2 passes and FG400 the paint looks amazing.

Thats impressive but frightening! I wouldnt imagine you would want to use them on factory thin paint?

They make two versions-

The Denim pad which is designed for maximum leveling- ideal for refinished thicker clear coats/ paints.

The Velvet pad which is designed to be less aggressive- ideal for factory paint systems.

If I get done with the write-ups today I will use the Velvet pad on my factory painted door and see how it measures up in terms of defect removal, usage, etc.

Will be following... The plan is to put them through the paces on a fresh painted Vallelunga (many curves) then fresh painted Giuliani SS (one constant curve) I'm doing.

It will be interesting to see how these perform in the restoration field for maximum leveling and flatness.

John and Todd you guys are nuts "I like scary" :lol2: I guess I'm not there yet because everytime I forget to respect my buffer(happens like once a year) Well lets just say I get to test my painting skills. Do love these pads though I've been using them for about 2 months.
