Bop's Auto Wash & Detail
I'm almost finished ordering supplies for my detail shop and I just want to make sure of some things before I place my last order... I'd appreciate any comments!!

1) "scrubbie pads" - These just basic scrub pads for interior cleaning?
2) "razor scrapper" ?
3) "100% wool dual sided cutting pad" ?
4) "dual sided foam cutting pad" ?
5) "dual sided foam polishing pad" ?
6) "buffing spur" ?
7) "gallon engine degreaser" - Whats best and just spray on and power wash off?
8) "sponge clay pads" ?
9) "800 grit compound" ?
10) "1200 grit compound" ?
11) "2000 grit one step" ?
I have a basic understanding of these materials but could use superior advice before buying. Thank You.

Lastly, the Extractor as we all know can be pricey... any suggestions for an average machine not killing the bank?! :bow

Thanks guys!!!!

FYI I bought my products based off of the "ultra plus package" at Auto detailing systems, equipment, supplies, reconditioning, and training.....

No offense, but it sounds like you need some practice and experience (and possibly training) before you open a shop and start charging customers for services....

Take some time and start reading around on this and other detailing forums; you'll pick up a lot of information (much better and more specific) fast. Detail Plus isn't necessarily the best source of information to give you the true "up to date" lay of the land in the industry at large where equipment/products/processes are concerned.

Good luck!

I knew that post would make me look like a rookie :) .... Ha I guess what I meant was more in the sense of "best of quality/popular" for these items and where might be a good spot to buy. No big deal if not, but advice concerning the extractor would be HugE!

Thanks!

Yeah, as for the compounds there are several to chose from. but with use you will find what works well on what cars paint. its not really cut and dry this one or that one are the ones your shop will use at least with me that seams the case i use several different ones and different cars want the ones that work for that paint or correction . it really boils down to pad and polish combination as to what works i think is what the first poster was saying don't think he was trying to insult your ability.i didn't spend a lot to start my shop well on towels maybe . i started from my shop at home before i got a location and i had helped a friend in his paint shop and he did just the basic he mostly did his paint correction with paint lol.when i helped him i picked up the rotatory buffer and he just had one compound it was 3m perfect-it and just one pad white buff pad for cutting. he was taught old school .i took from there got the rest of that system and learned to use it to fix alot of what he was fixing with paint.then started doing higher end cars. those paints wanted to be picky about what was used on them so i had to expand on what i was using and where i live there is only the retail stuff to work with.then started going on the different forums and read what the guys /girls were using tried what they were using and found what works on what.as for carpet cleaner i use one that is for home for now is a hoover all terrain max extract with the upholstery tools and it really works well the cleaners are what i find to do the job or make the job finish well.didn't mean to get long winded just trying to help feel i have been where you are and had the same thoughts.best of luck with your shop and its attention to detail that makes the most of your work. keeps you from being just another a car wash.:inspector:
