As a rule I'm pretty traditional when it comes to this song. I did however think this was particularly well done.

Cool try. I guess I'm just too traditional when it comes to the Star Spangled Banner...

I thought the Super Bowl rendition was very good, you've got to do things a bit different when using both an orchestra and several choirs. Carry Underwood also did a great job (no doubt Mr. Clean won't agree). Whitney and Mariah both take their share of artistic license in their efforts. When they start spanning the scales/octaves on every line, most often I lose interest. I don't consider these renditions to be very traditional.

Yes I agree. I should define traditional, at least in my opinion- It is the commonly accepted version which follows a recognizable cadence. It is the style that brings a tear to my heart and makes my soul swell with pride. It's just my opinion of course.

I recently went to a Pearl Jam concert and their guitarist closed the show with a Hendrix inspired version of the Start Spangled Banner. While obviously not Jimi, it was still amazing to hear.

Starts @ 4:10

I really liked it and Im very traditonal when it comes to this song. I get pissed off when someone like a so called singer totally screws up this song of America.
