Best product to polish wheel lips?

My step lips on my wheels are raw polish (no clearcoat).
I've been using the P21 metal polishing soap for a while now. It works, but the results aren't as promising as I want them to be.

Do you guys recommend a better polish? Or should I still use the same stuff but with a 0000 steel wool?

I've always had great success with Mothers Billet polish. I haven't found anything I really like better plus you can get it locally.

Welcome to Autopia Forums!! :bigups

There are many metal polishing products on the market.

  • Flitz Polish
  • Mothers
  • Duragloss
  • Blackfire

Semi-Chrome is my go to for polished aluminum

Zephyr pro 40 is another, but I have found the semi-chrome better

simi chrome works well but smells terrible!

could probably also try something like klasse aio or PB pro polish

I don't find it that bad, I use the product because it preforms. The smell means nothing to me.

The PB PP2 is a very good choice as well, but on polished aluminum I find the PP2 isn't as effective as the two I've listed. On chrome and coated metals the PP 2 is a very good choice IMO

It depends on what you are really trying to accomplish.

The BLACKFIRE Aluminum Polishing System is great for refinishing wheels and the the final polish in the series, BLACKFIRE Wet Diamond Aluminum Show Polish is about as fine and premium of a metal polish that exists, but it is quite expensive.

If you are looking for something with moderate polishing power while still delivering a great shine, Optimum Metal Polish or Rollite are great choices.

If you want something mild, but still want a maximum shine, check out Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish.

I really appreciate the responses that you guys have given to me. I'm looking for a product that's pretty much the best bang for its buck.

so far im convinced to go with either Optimum Metal Polish or Poorboys Pro Polish or Zephyr Pro-40
